House of Cards - 401, 402, 403: Chapters 40-42

Jim and A.Ron return to the seedy amoral world of “House of Cards”, taking in the first three episodes and finding it more nuanced and complex as it returns to the purer forms of politics from the first two seasons. Frank is trying to prove that he doesn’t need Claire to win, and failing miserably. Claire schemes on a plan that seems on the face of it insane, but what is she actually getting at? And how will Lucas’ sudden return to relevancy impact Frank? Which of the seemingly endless stream of weapons of mass destruction being hurled at the highest levels of government will be the first to go off and destroy everyone? Is there any good to root for at this point? We’ll be back with coverage of the next six episodes over the course of next week. See you then!

Bald Move Prestige - Cowspiracy (2014)

Special thanks to Adele McDonough who commissioned a podcast on the 2014 documentary film “Cowspiracy”, available on Netflix and most other streaming services. Produced and directed by Kip Anderson, it alleges a vast conspiracy among big business, politicians, and even environmental special interests groups to bury the severe negative impact the consumption of meat has on our global climate and water supply. Jim and A.Ron check the facts and try to answer some tough moral and ethical questions as we debate the facts, figures, and philosophy of where individual rights and personal choices come into conflict with the greater good and our duties to posterity.

Better Cast Saul - 203 – Amarillo

Welcome to this week’s podcast covering episode 203 of Better Call Saul, “Amarillo”. In it, we discuss solid gold armadillos, the ethics of solicitation, the mental state of one Stacie Ehrmantraut, possible ways the Nacho/Mike plot line can connect to Saul and even Gus, and ponder Jimmy’s recklessness and a possibly upcoming Canary Trap strategy to take down Sand Piper. All this, tons of feedback, and a segment of Law Talk with legal analysis from our bullpen of putative lawyers. Enjoy!

Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 611 – Knots Untie

We’re not sure what got untied in last night’s episode of The Walking Dead, “Knots Untie”, but nevertheless it was another pretty good episode that clearly and confidently moved the action forward as it gave more depth and color to characters that sorely needed it. Join us for a discussion of crops, creepy leaders, the wisdom of post apocalyptic procreation, tons of feedback, and a healthy spoiler section after the outro music.
