Better Cast Saul - 204 – Gloves Off

Jim and A.Ron are loving the latest episode of Better Call Saul, number 204, “Gloves Off”. Lots of great background and historical details to give our Breaking Bad side the warm fuzzies, and lots of present day action and character intrigue to satisfy our inner Sauls. We discuss our increasingly nuanced positions on Chuck and Jimmy as characters, what a raw deal Kim got, the cool background details we got on the enigmatic Mike, plow through tons of feedback, and more Law Talk!

What's Cooking in Hell's Kitchen - Origin Stories and Season 1

We’re nearly into the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil series so it’s time to fire up the gears of the podcast machine. Last October a generous fan paid us to talk about the origin stories of both Daredevil and Kingpin. We went a little overboard and just talked about the whole damned first season. To start up the new feed, we’re repackaging that podcast and releasing it here.

House of Cards - 404, 405, 406 – Chapters 43-45

Jim and A.Ron are impressed with the strongest stretch of House of Cards in any a season. With events both shocking and eminently watchable, we praise the opportunism of Claire as she waylays the entire government apparatus as a sort of audition for her role in higher power. Will her daring gambit pay off, or will the Underwoods, and the United States of America, pay too high a price? Join us as we discuss and debate organ donation, the various schemes and power grabs, and analyze the potential treacheries and betrayals ahead.

Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 612 – Not Tomorrow Yet

The Walking Dead has strung together three pretty great episodes in a row! Jim and A.Ron could not be happier with this turn of events, as we tuck into episode 612, “Not Tomorrow Yet”. We discuss the horror of acorn/beet cookies, the appropriate time and place for Morgalizing, the unlikely relationship of Tobin and Carol, how not to break up with your post-apocalyptic girlfriend, and some general geeking out at the intense, well filmed action of this episode. All this plus tons of feedback and lots of spoiler section analyzing, coming at you faster than the break of dawn.

Up Yours, Downstairs!

The Uncanny Valley Of Happiness

In Part One of their two-part recap of the Downton Abbey finale, Kelly and Tom fight off tears as they come to the end of a long, strange journey. They give Highclere Castle what-for, reveal Andy’s secret fashion design career, discuss the origins of Molesley’s baldness, long for the return of the Donk, praise Cruikshank’s…

House of Cards - 401, 402, 403: Chapters 40-42

Jim and A.Ron return to the seedy amoral world of “House of Cards”, taking in the first three episodes and finding it more nuanced and complex as it returns to the purer forms of politics from the first two seasons. Frank is trying to prove that he doesn’t need Claire to win, and failing miserably. Claire schemes on a plan that seems on the face of it insane, but what is she actually getting at? And how will Lucas’ sudden return to relevancy impact Frank? Which of the seemingly endless stream of weapons of mass destruction being hurled at the highest levels of government will be the first to go off and destroy everyone? Is there any good to root for at this point? We’ll be back with coverage of the next six episodes over the course of next week. See you then!

Better Cast Saul - 203 – Amarillo

Welcome to this week’s podcast covering episode 203 of Better Call Saul, “Amarillo”. In it, we discuss solid gold armadillos, the ethics of solicitation, the mental state of one Stacie Ehrmantraut, possible ways the Nacho/Mike plot line can connect to Saul and even Gus, and ponder Jimmy’s recklessness and a possibly upcoming Canary Trap strategy to take down Sand Piper. All this, tons of feedback, and a segment of Law Talk with legal analysis from our bullpen of putative lawyers. Enjoy!

Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 611 – Knots Untie

We’re not sure what got untied in last night’s episode of The Walking Dead, “Knots Untie”, but nevertheless it was another pretty good episode that clearly and confidently moved the action forward as it gave more depth and color to characters that sorely needed it. Join us for a discussion of crops, creepy leaders, the wisdom of post apocalyptic procreation, tons of feedback, and a healthy spoiler section after the outro music.

Bald Move Pulp - Firefly (2002)

In this community commissioned podcast, we discuss Joss Whedon’s 2002 television series, “Firefly”, which was sadly strangled in the crib by Fox, only to miraculously arise again in the form of a movie, where Whedon decided to put it down for good. We love the series so much that we watch the whole damn thing again, and the movie, and we have a lot of thoughts on the matter. We hope you enjoy this super sized reminiscing of one of our favorite Sci-Fi series of all time.
