This episode split its time between the three going plot concerns, which we appreciated. The political maneuverings on The Maiden continue to excite us. What’s happening with Brother Dawn on Trantor is raising a lot of interesting questions about cloning while answering others. Things are also getting good on the Terminus side now that we know more about Invictus. Join us for discussion of Foundation S01E07 “Mysteries and Martyrs” on the podcast.
Here’s another petrifying prestige film… Jaws. Author Peter Benchley and director Steven Spielberg team up to put you off visiting the beach for a good long time. Does JAWS hold up? Or does the rubber shark effects make it feel safe to get back into the water. Check out the podcast to find out.
Find out what the audience had to say about Foundation S01E06 “Death and the Maiden” in this feedback edition of the podcast.
It’s the 20th anniversary of Donnie Darko, the cult classic that introduced Jake Gyllenhaal to dark and disturbed teenagers across the nation. Join us for the re-release of our 2016 podcast covering this twisted sci-fi tale.
Last Friday we sat down (virtually) with David S. Goyer, the creator and executive producer of Foundation, to ask him some of the questions we’ve had about the show thus far, as well as the questions you submitted to us. Apologies to anyone whose question we didn’t get to and a big thank you to David for sharing his time with us. Respect and enjoy the interview.
Lunchtime! This week A.Ron talks about his Chicagoland airsoft experience, we struggle to prove that Italians are real, and also express our sympathies for everyone involved in the “Rust” on-set accident.
Well, the verdict is in from the USofA (as it already has been from the rest of the world) and Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Dune appears to work, even on skeptics like Jim who have been resistant to it’s Lynch-tainted charms for decades. But it is any wonder? When a movie looks this good and displays such an overwhelming amount of creativity, you just can’t help but enjoy it. Check out our spoiler-free thoughts on the movie and then, if you’re a club member, stick around for our full spoiler review.
This episode is more action-heavy than the previous ones and the potential consequences for Terminus are frightening. But maybe only half as frightening as the consequences that a certain artificial life form might experience after bowing to her moon goddess right in front of her clone god. Join us for the full discussion on the podcast.
For some reason we’re incapable of talking less. We tried to talk faster. Nothing worked. So, going forward, we’re going to be splitting off the feedback from the main discussion and analysis. It remains to be seen if that can get our episodes under 2 hours. Respect and enjoy the podcast.
