The Matrix Resurrections (2021)

We’ve seen The Matrix Resurrections and the only thing we want to say is “not bad”. Seriously, we don’t want to spoil anything for you and there’s a lot going on in this movie. You might want to see it again or, like Jim, you might want to see another sequel before you make up your mind about this one, but at the very least it’s more enjoyable than either of the previous Matrix sequels. Eternals (2021)

Marvel’s latest deep cut superhero origin story movie tries to do too much with too little and ends up disappointing. There’s too much runtime with not enough plot. There are too many characters with not enough development. There are too many scenes with not enough light. Join us on the podcast to hear our non-spoiler thoughts and trailer talk, and come through the paywall to the spoiler section if you’re a club member. Bald Move Pulp - No Time To Die (2021)

The final chapter of Daniel Craig’s story as James Bond has finally been written and we’re honestly pretty relieved. We’ve mostly enjoyed the journey, and find this movie to be one of the more enjoyable parts of it, but the darker tone of the Craig Bond movies has taken its toll and we’re ready for a fresh new look at James Bond. Join us for our discussion of No Time To Die.

The Many Saints of Newark (2021)

The Many Saints of Newark exists as several movies in one, trying to be something more than just a Sopranos prequel, and ultimately doesn’t excel at anything except casting. If you’re a die-hard fan of The Sopranos, you’ll definitely want to check it out, as it sheds new light on the events and relationships of the series. If you’re a fan of gangster movies, you might want to check it out after you’ve watched all of the many other, much better gangster movies. If you’re neither, why are you even here?

Pig (2021)

If you’re going into this movie expecting a John Wick clone starring Nicolas Cage, you’re going to be surprised. Truly, I don’t know if there is a way to properly calibrate your expectations for Pig. It’s best to go in not knowing too much. Join us for the podcast to find out what we thought about it.

The Suicide Squad (2021)

What a difference a word, and one excellent writer / director, makes! The Suicide Squad is a complete 360 from the steaming pile of garbage that was Suicide Squad. It’s fun, action-packed, ultra-violent and everything we would hope to see from the evolution of subversive superhero movies.

The Green Knight (2021)

You’ve seen the trailer for The Green Knight, right? It looks really cool, like a flashier, trippier version of Excalibur. I mean, look at that poster! That’s awesome! Well, if that’s what you’re expecting of the movie you’re going to be disappointed. It’s definitely more of an art film than an action movie. Check out the podcast to hear our non-spoiler review and trailer talk and then, if you’re a club member or patron, stick around for the full spoiler review.
