Pan’s Labyrinth is a mythical and mystical juxtaposition of two engaging universes. In one, a brooding tyrant rules with a cruel and iron fist – representing, perhaps, one of the greatest villains in movie history. In the other, a cadre of beautifully grotesque creatures guide a young girl through a world falling apart. This sister film to del Toro’s The Devil’s Backbone is a master work of cinema, and in many ways may be Guillermo’s opus. Join us next week for Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
In this week’s episode of Cinemax’s Banshee, “Innocent Might Be a Bit of a Stretch”, we receive clues as to the serial killer’s identity and agenda, Special Agent Dushku intrigues both Proctor and Hood alike, Job keeps his shiz together long enough for Carrie to be a total badass, while Bad Bowtie Burton commits his most heinous act to date. All this and feedback too coming your way!
Lots of stuff to discuss in the season six premiere of Game of Thrones, “The Red Woman”, and we try to touch on as much as we can to tide you over until our full coverage podcast out Tuesday. White hair, Dornish devastation, and Northern intrigue are the hot topics, but what did you think? Use the links below to get in touch!

Jim’s head is full to bursting as we sit down and do our SpoiLore edition of our season six preview. RIP “Mildly Interesting”. If your a Bald Move Club Member, you can see video of him going from Unsullied to Sullied, and get to see his reaction to some of the main theories that we book readers and adventuresome show watches already know and love. Thus armed, we take tons of feedback and talk about what we’re expecting and hoping to see on this season of Game of Thrones.
Here’s a treat for Club Members… I sit down with him and have him watch a few Alt Shift X videos to get him primed for entry into the SpoiLore podcast. Get his instant reaction to things like R+L=J, the Gravedigger theory, and Jon Snow theories! If we get a positive reaction, we might record a few others as the season progresses.
Another Lunch with Jim & A.Ron. Who knows what we’ll talk about this time?
Special thanks goes to Alafia McMurty for commissioning a podcast on the 1985 sci-fi comedy classic, “Back to the Future”. Starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, we’ve seen this movie a million times and love every second. Please enjoy the following mammoth podcast that covers nearly every aspect of the film, from the absurd to the poignant to the sublime.
We’re trying to walk a fine line here. On the one hand, we are impressed as we can be with the quality, pacing, and storytelling on display throughout season two of AMC’s “Better Call Saul”. Heck, we even really like the finale, episode 210, “Klick”. But we also have a few problems with how they’re going about doing what they do, and worry that the mounting coincidences, reliance on karmic timing and a fairly limp reveal for the finale will eventually undermine the enterprise. And we have a giant mailbag full of opinions from you and your fellow fans.
