Jim and A.Ron discuss sailing, island getaways, dispense first time convention goer advice, talk about David Simon’s newest HBO effort, “Show Me A Hero”, and our thoughts on “Ballers” and “The Brink”.
After directing The Witch, one of the most unsettling horror movies of the last decade, Robert Eggers has done it again with The Lighthouse, a film that defies description. Willem Defoe and Robert Pattinson both deliver astounding performances in this largely underrated tale about two lighthouse attendants (“wickies”) who have to make the best of a bad situation. Join us on the podcast, preferably after you’ve seen the movie, for the full discussion.
Flashbacks galore in this week’s episode of The Walking Dead. The episode tries to convince us that a young girl who wears the skin of the dead, roaming the countryside murdering other survivors for no real reason is a sympathetic character. Does it work? Join us on the podcast to find out!
This week we talk about our latest gaming session with Fall Guys, the best pranks we’ve pulled, our best movie theater experiences, how to meet in the middle when buying a house, and go all in on an impromptu QYP involving Anthony Hopkins taking over the world while Willem Defoe and Michael B. Jordan try to stop him.
Edgar Wright has only directed one box office bomb and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is it. Does that mean it’s a bad movie? Absolutely not. In fact, we think it’s an excellent representation of the growing cross-section of movies, gaming, and graphic novels. That’s why we’ve decided to celebrate it’s 10th anniversary with a podcast talking about what makes it great. Take a listen.
We’re back with another movie. This time it’s Wes Anderson’s Sophomore effort, Rushmore. Written by Anderson and his frequent collaborator and childhood friend, Owen Wilson, it bears all the hallmarks of a Wes Anderson project, though it’s a bit less polished than his future films. Join us for the podcast to hear what we thought about this 22 year-old classic.
This week we’re outside the walls with Negan who surely must be on the hunt for Lucille, right? I mean, he stops in a sporting goods store and everything! Whether it’s Lucille or something else, he doesn’t find what he’s looking for. Also, a whisperer is captured, interrogated, and probably launching a manipulative plan for escape. I guess we’ll see!
This time we take on the latest season of The Umbrella Academy, wax nostalgic about a bygone era of basketball featured in The Last Dance, and wrap up our discussion of What We Do in the Shadows.
We discuss mating frogs, computer builds, racing-mania, sitcoms, our scariest, most painful motor vehicle experiences, and more. Apologies for the sub-par audio. We both forgot to record on our respective ends this week! PREEEEEE…. you know.
