Here’s what’s happening at Bald Move this week.
This is a podcast where Jim and I, using tools created for the purpose, randomly generate a title for a fictional TV show. We then pitch ideas to each other based on what that show would be like if it were real. We like to call it, “Quit Yer Pitchin’!”
The Last of Us continues to tear our hearts out while delivering its best action scenes in S01E05 “Endure and Survive.” Enjoy the instant take and we’ll reconvene 1 day early this week for the full recap podcast on Monday.
Lunchtime! Get a sneak peak of the success of the Groundhog Day stream before the full debrief. Are there any Canadian listeners willing to send Jim and A.Ron a bag of ketchup flavored Doritos? They’re curious what they’ll taste like and your favorite hosts will eat them on air. And listen in on a brainstorm session for what a “Greatest Franchise of All Time” podcast would be like. And the consensus is that the Breaking Bad/PopCorners commercial was pretty good.
Captains Jim and A.Ron are back on the bridge of USS Bald Move. Star Trek: Picard is getting the gang back together. If you’ve been missing the OG characters, this is the reunion your nerd heart has been longing for. Even though last season was rough, there’s hope for this coming season.
Jim has some hot takes about aging. You can email him directly with your responses. A.Ron and Jim answer your burning questions and quandaries, such as…would a “Karen” survive the apocalypse? Should there be a Christmas episode? Is the plot too simple? REMEMBER: The Instant Take will be this Friday evening after the premiere of episode five.
A.Ron answers listener questions and Katherine Olley (Oxford) discusses Arya, Yoren, and spooky trees.
You’ve probably heard people say “Rosebud”, but have no idea what they’re talking about. Jim and A.Ron are here to enlighten you. Orson Welles, as a 24 year old, co-wrote, directed, and starred in this bastion of American cinema. It’s an impressive jump for Welles to go from terrifying the nation with his fictional alien broadcasts to creating one of the best movies ever made.
It doesn’t matter how much you push the envelope..it will always be stationary. HA! Get it?? If you didn’t chuckle at that, you might be dead inside like Joel. After the love story interlude of last week, we’re back with Joel and Ellie in their dangerous, cross-country bonding adventure. The real threats? People and coffee addiction.
