Love Actually (2003)

Continuing the Bald Move Christmas season is Love Actually (2003) and three more drinks from the Advent Calendar! This movie was written and directed by Richard Curtis, the one British director you’ve definitely heard of. Jim finds this movie to be indefensibly bad. A.Ron steps in to defend parts of it. Just parts. Join Jim and A.Ron and their unrefined palettes as they talk about what love is actually.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is more Marvel fare and delivers exactly what you’d expect, but Sam Raimi is in full Raimi form with enough of a twist to keep it interesting. It’s just too bad that it’s co-protagonist is a MacGuffin. Bald Move Prestige - The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (2019)

We’ve seen Chiwetel Ejiofor’s (star of 12 Years a Slave, Doctor Strange) directorial debut on Netflix, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and found it compelling and enlightening. Based on a true story about a Malawian boy who saves his village from famine with his wits, ingenuity, and education, The Boy offers us an inside look at things we can barely begin to relate to; widespread starvation, civil unrest and the breakdown of society. Things that we may have to relate to sooner than we think.
