Catch some of the details that you might have missed in season 2. Is there more rationale to this show than we think, or are we grasping for straws? The adults don’t feel as relatable as they were in season 1. And certain plot points have been left by the wayside. One listener begs the question; are we as an audience ok?
The season finale is here and it was a hit and a miss. There were some strong plot choices that we’re looking forward to continuing in the next season. But characters are making choices that seem, well, out of character. The women at Lottie’s compound have some hard decisions to make. Walter continues to be an entertaining enigma. We still don’t know who the pit girl is, but we’re running out of teenagers.
Did you feel like there was a scene cut from the latest episode? Other people noticed that too. Check out some buzzy fan theories in this episode of feedback. Is there a Downton Abbey baby subplot on the way? Does the deck of cards give us more clues into the mythos? Did the Wilderness choose Javi first?
By the end of the episode, Jim is 100% sure that this show is going to reveal supernatural forces. A.Ron keeps it leal (ifykyk) and still defends team science. As the plot thickens in preparation for the season finale next week, we get a look into how the Wilderness is haunting the reunited adult Yellowjackets. It seems that not everyone is going to make it to the next season. Is Lottie a danger to herself and the other women? What is Walter’s end goal? And Jeff, what are you doing?
What has Walter been up to? And did he have anything to do with the discovery of Adam’s body? Is the Wilderness trying to move Coach Ben out of the way? And you can’t ask about Caligula anymore, ok?? Find out who is on the other side of that phone number and what it means when A.Ron says, “Goats are mouth curious.”
The Yellowjackets reunite at Lottie’s Wellness Retreat Center, but there’s no wellness to be found. As each woman goes about her “therapy” in the present, the show takes us back to the 90s to show us why they need therapy. Misty is a lovesick murderer. Shauna has had enough of Lottie. And everyone gets suspicious about Crystal’s disappearance.
Is all the misfortune a direct result of the girls unknowingly dumping their waste on a sacred site? Is there a thermal vent in the forest that makes a natural crock pot? Why does it seem like there’s a source of energy coming out of the ground? As some theories get scratched off of the list, A.Ron presents a new one. It’s called “The Human Turducken”, and you should listen to find out what he’s talking about.
In the wilderness, Shauna’s baby woes ended in the simplest way, but it’s sure to cause a schism between Lottie’s followers and the non-believers. In the present, the team is back together at Lottie’s cult (ahem) wellness center. Did the mysterious darkness bring them together? Or has it been inside of them all along? And what weirdness does Matt have going on downstairs?
Did your theories get downvoted on Reddit? Well, bring them here! Was Travis about to join the Purple People cult? Can Yellowjackets be deciphered with a basic knowledge of Jungian archetypes? Who is the ‘friend’ Javi refers to? Check out this deep dive into Yellowjackets theory crafting.
Randy gets dragged back into the mess. Callie lies to the cops. And Lottie mines Nat’s mind for the answer to Travis’ note. Back in the woods, Javi isn’t speaking (annoying) and Lottie’s influence on the group grows. It’s hard to tell if the rituals have an actual effect. And the burning question, what will happen to this wilderness baby?
