The Book of Boba Fett Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian marks a return to form, but we’re beginning to think that’s because The Mandalorian is the new “coolest character” in Star Wars, as Boba Fett is completely absent from his own show this week. We’re also treated to a hot rod that puts the modders mopeds to shame in an excellent cameo from the prequels.
This time we’re capping off Station Eleven with a talk about all 10 episodes before going into the surprise hit, Peacemaker, dipping a toe into The Righteous Gemstones, and revisiting Children of Time now that we’ve both finished it. Top all of that off with a scoop of Patron Topics and you’ve got an episode of Off the Clock.
Steve and Anthony talk about a major hinge in Nancy’s character development and talk about the impact of Peter Gabriel’s voice. Then they dive deep into Pet Sematary.
This episode made Boba Fett look like a real buffoon. Unfortunately, that’s not our recollection of the character from the original series and there are no number of “flashbactas” that can make us ok with it. Join us for the episode for some talk about what didn’t work and why.
We recently sat in on a massive 3-hour livestream with Pete Peppers and BenjaTV about the end of The Expanse. If you want to watch the video you can find it on Pete’s YouTube channel or if you’re a club member, you can listen to it here as a podcast. Enjoy!
Join us for one last episode of the Beltalowda podcast to celebrate the end of the perhaps the best sci-fi show to date. It’s a super-sized, feedback-packed episode where we quibble a little over the necessity of certain events and wonder what could have been but come out the other side appreciating what we did get.
Anthony and Steve cover The Weirdo on Maple Street. We talk about 1980’s police work and how Poltergeist influenced the Duffer Brothers.
The obligatory action scene this week is a real disappointment but the rest of the episode held up pretty well. Join us for the podcast to hear our thoughts on The Book of Boba Fett’s third chapter, The Streets of Mos Espa.
The series finale delivers on nearly all fronts with some great action, some precious final moments between the characters we’ve come to love, and a promising conclusion for Inyalowda / Beltalowda relations. Join us for the podcast to hear our full thoughts on perhaps the best sci-fi series ever made. (We go into that)
