We are thrilled that HBO’s The Leftovers are back, and in fine form. Three years after the battle for Jardin is over, our favorite characters are still grappling with what to believe and what is real, with mysteries old and new. From the opening historical drama of The Great Disappointment to the enigmatic ending, it did nothing but confirm that this is one of the smartest, most beautiful shows around and that we are in for one hell of a ride. All this, feedback, and a very light spoiler section at the very end of the podcast, coming right up.

With A.Ron on vacation, I’m joined by Eric from Personal Arrogants and Direct to cover the season 3 premiere of the most effortlessly gripping show on television. We speculate about the various plans put in motion this episode and where it’s all going, the final fate of Jimmy / Saul / Gene and devise a new spin-off for the Breaking Bad universe.
Jim and A.Ron are fired up for the final season of HBO’s The Leftovers. We discuss the timeline, hints and previews from the season trailers, Noah’s Ark and how it might relate to this season, A.Ron and Jim trading roles as Man of Faith and Man of Science, and much, much more.
Jim and A.Ron say goodbye once again to AMC’s The Walking Dead, but first, we have some things to get off our chest and a ton of feedback from our fellow fans to share. What lane does the Dead need to stay in? How long can it last? How big a star is Andrew Lincoln, anyway? Will the War with Negan last 8 episodes, or 16? Just how many episodes of Trash People backstory will we be inflicted with? Should Gimple and company just let Heath go? All this and more will be discussed!
Special preview! Fake news, oppressive patriarchy, and an overall impending sense of doom: Join “Aunt” Kelly Anneken and Molly “Ofmitchell” Sanchez as we discuss this and more in Red All Over, a podcast based on The Handmaid’s Tale and weirdly not on current events.
Jim and A.Ron are getting ready for season three of AMC’s Better Call Saul, by reviewing the advance material and last year’s continuing plots. What will Chuck do with Jimmy’s confession tape? Who is trying to come between Mike and his vengeance, and why? Can Jimmy and Kim find a way to work together in their separate but equal law firm? When will Gus rear his handsome, mild-mannered head? All this and more is discussed. See you next week for the premiere!
This is a podcast where Jim and I, using tools created for the purpose, randomly generate a title for a fictional TV show. We then pitch ideas to each other based on what that show would be like if it were real. We like to call it, “Quit Yer Pitchin’!”
by The Walking Dead’s season 7 finale, “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life”. Well staged action and CGI stunt tigers get the pulse pounding, but it’s not long before well worn bad habits start to get in the way; a convoluted plot by Negan to once again impress upon Rick that resistance is futile, literal Garbage People, and Sasha’s “I’ll save you from the situation I helped create” heroics, all these unfortunately mire the proceedings. But that’s not our last work on the subject. We’ll be back later this week to wrap up the season, so get your email in before Thursday if you want to be heard!
