Bald Move Pulp - The Deuce – 205 – All You’ll Be Eating Is Cannibals

Jim and A.Ron go cruising for the latest episode of HBO’s The Deuce, and wind up going home with “All You’ll Be Eating Is Cannibals”. The Deuce has always featured duality; Frankie/Vincent being the parade example. But here we see two raids; one on an underground card game by a professional crew of criminals, another by professional law enforcement on an above ground massage parlor. We found ourselves sad and disquieted by both. We also see members of the gay community step out of the shadows and emerge as successful businessmen, politicians, neighbors working on the local council; as people, basically. And Vincent is confronted by his duality being converged, with Abby demanding him to take a side, either with her helping the women sex workers achieve safety and stability, or the mob that profiteers off their exploitation. But even if he wanted out, we’re reminded of his scene last week with the volcanic Tommy, “what do you mean, you want out?” Wanting and doing are two very different things, as we’re predicting we’ll all come to appreciate as season two enters it’s final act.

American Horror Story Podcast - 804 – “Could it be… Satan?”

Cecily and A.Ron pronounce the latest episode of FX’s American Horror Story: Apocalypse, “Could it be… Satan?” to be, in fact, a Glory Box. Full of wonders, such as gay Harry Potter fan fiction, Emma Roberts in hell, the return of hotelier James March, and a ruthless system of matriarchal oppression where men can never be Supreme! But never fear, gentlemen, because Michael Langdon is here in Satan’s service to finally free us men from female hegemony. Nema! This episode is crazy and a lot of fun. Still not getting much in the scare department, but if we can’t get that, at least give us more of this uncloseted All-American Hogwarts!

Better Cast Saul - 409 – Wiedersehen

Jim and A.Ron are excited to see a return of tension and intrigue with the latest episode of AMC’s Better Call Saul. The traditional Jimmy scam gets a Kim-style twist that was very well executed. Don Hector receiving his bell was perhaps unnecessary, but it was really fun to watch. The drama with Werner and the explosives and his ensuing escape attempt fueled the episode with much needed suspense. Finally, Jimmy and Kim’s roof-top blow-up was as volcanic as it was tragic, uncomfortable, and real. It will be interesting to see what places they take Jimmy’s and Kim’s legal careers as well as the warming war between the Fring organization and the Salamancas with Nacho caught in the middle in what is sure to be a barn burning season finale. See you then!

Bald Move Pulp - The Deuce – 204 – What Big Ideas

A.Ron and Jim are down to talk about the latest episode of HBO’s The Deuce, “What Big Ideas”. The Deuce drops another couple of bodies, which draws the increasing attention of the Public Morals Task Force. Unfortunately, that attention is incompetent, corrupt, or often both. Bobby and Vincent have trouble dealing with their involvement in the flesh trade, even as Abby and Dorothy beat the streets trying to organize and help their fellow women, often to little result. Also, C.C. innovates, Larry is packing, and Frankie’s misadventures running the dry cleaning entertain.

American Horror Story Podcast - 803 – Forbidden Fruit

Cecily and A.Ron had a lot of wild, messy, at times really gross fun with the latest installment of FX’s American Horror Story, “Forbidden Fruit”! A spine tingling scene of demonic possession! More Cathy Bots! Billy Eichner kicking post apocalyptic ass! VVITCHES!!! Enjoy our fresh, off the cuff thoughts and predictions, and don’t forget to send us some email for Feedback Friday!

Better Cast Saul - 408 – Coushatta

We found ourselves in the minority of fans after watching AMC’s Better Call Saul’s latest episode, “Coushatta”. While not a bad episode per se, Jim and I were both let down by the actual scheme to befuddle the DA for Huell’s case, and taken off guard by the sudden shift in what we perceived as Kim’s character. On the other hand, caching up with Nacho was a rewarding experience, and we’re truly excited by the possibilities Lalo entering the picture presents. We discuss all this and more plus tons of great listener feedback with smart dissents in the landmark case of Bald Move vs. Kim Wexler.
