Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)

Lumos! Two brave commissioners have sent a request by owl post for Professors A.Ron and Jim to watch the third (and overall most-loved) Harry Potter movie. Jim cries “stupefy” to get this movie away from him. But A.Ron casts “protego” and defends the movie. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, who has helmed many decorated dramas, and based on the book series by she-who-must-not-be-named, this movie takes a darker look at the whimsical world of Harry Potter.

Yellowjackets - S02E09 – Storytelling

The season finale is here and it was a hit and a miss. There were some strong plot choices that we’re looking forward to continuing in the next season. But characters are making choices that seem, well, out of character. The women at Lottie’s compound have some hard decisions to make. Walter continues to be an entertaining enigma. We still don’t know who the pit girl is, but we’re running out of teenagers.

Growth Decay Transformation - S02E04 – “Cold Shoulder”

Have you ever felt blue? Jesse Bruce Pinkman gets dyed blue in Down. The Smurf look is a not-so-subtle nod to the rising tensions between Skyler and Walt and the way in which Jesse himself is feeling. It’s pretty clear by this point in the show that Walt can’t keep his mouth shut, and thereby alienates Skyler. Pete and Courtney call into question Walt and Jesse’s belief that they are owed by their own families. Your hosts will sort through the emotional turmoil in the hardest episode of Breaking Bad to watch.

Dead Poets Society (1989)

Take a step back in time to late 80s cinema where hope abounds, it’s a bit schmaltzy, and the sensibilities don’t always hold up. Peter Weir directs a bombastic Robin Williams as Mr. Keating, an eccentric English teacher at a private school. Keating inspires his students to Carpe Diem, push back against authority, and explore the arts. Listen in to Jim and A.Ron as they examine their own experience with the film. And find out who almost got cast as Mr. Keating!

Yellowjackets - S02E08 – It Chooses

By the end of the episode, Jim is 100% sure that this show is going to reveal supernatural forces. A.Ron keeps it leal (ifykyk) and still defends team science. As the plot thickens in preparation for the season finale next week, we get a look into how the Wilderness is haunting the reunited adult Yellowjackets. It seems that not everyone is going to make it to the next season. Is Lottie a danger to herself and the other women? What is Walter’s end goal? And Jeff, what are you doing?

Return of the Jedi (1983) – 40th Anniversary Rerelease

Bald Move is rereleasing this very special pod in honor of the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi! Tune in and chill out to a very special episode from the Bald Move archive.
Once again commissioner Fernando Rodriguez (you may better know him as FernNYC17 on our forums) steps up with a choice selection, this time the oft maligned Return of the Jedi. Often dismissed as derivative or childish when compared to A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back respectively, we have nothing but love for the climax of the story of Skywalker. It’s got the best space battle, the best lightsabre battle, and the best puppets in all of Star Wars. The Special Edition changes? Not so much love.
