FX’s Legion delivers a fantastic penultimate episode with “Chapter 7”. Humor, action, character development, jaw dropping visuals, Legion managed to deliver the goods while building suspense as we head into the final episode of the first season. Plus, we got a ton more information about the identity of David’s parasite, David’s father, and Melanie’s husband Oliver. More Jemaine Clement is never a bad thing!

Jason is still a true believer, but A.Ron and Jim are a bit wary, and weary of the “is it real or is it all in their minds??” questions that threaten to derail an otherwise engaging season of FX’s Legion. Even still, we really dug the groovy guest spot with Jemaine Clement, and are really impressed with Aubrey Plaza’s suddenly fearsome Lenny, and are intrigued with the revelations around David’s imaginary (?) pooch King.

Jason from Podcastica and Jim and A.Ron from Bald Move merge our psyches together to form one semi-coherent podcast on FX’s new schizophrenic superhero, Legion. Headed up by Fargo master Noah Hawley, and starring
Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Rachel Keller (Fargo), and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Rec), the show certainly has a fine pedigree. We found it visually striking, with excellent and appealing actors, and admired the way the show throws us head first into an electrified pool of reality-bending mystery and intrigue. We discuss the many strengths and few potential weaknesses of the show, before considering fellow fan feedback and have a brief spoilery look into the future of the show.
Who can stop Marvel Studios’ continued run of Box Office Domination? Apparently not even the forces of the negaverse or whatever the hell Doctor Strange was fighting in this movie, because A.Ron and Jim (yes, even Jim!) ate it up and saw it in two packed houses this evening. Full to bursting with imaginative ideas and visuals that must be seen to be believed, and even then just barely, Doctor Strange is just relentlessly cool and fun. Benedict Cumberbatch leads a team of A-list Hollywood talent using all of their considerable powers to make you believe this world that is full of crazy baloney ideas and imagery is rock solid and every bit as realized as the real world. If you have even a passing interest in comic book movies or just want to see what the new state of the art in terms of effects work is, go see it on the biggest screen you can find.
Jim and A.Ron have seen Captain America: Civil War, and they really, really liked what they saw. It was fun, weighty, maybe a bit long with the usual seeming plot holes (which comic fans can probably fill), but nothing that comes close to threatening to stop the runaway hype train that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We give you a fairly detailed non-spoiler review, before considering the many highly entertaining trailers that ran up front, and then finally, getting around to our no holds barred spoiler section. We’ve watch the trailers (see number one and number two), read the press, and are appropriately hyped for season two of Netflix’s man without fear, Daredevil. How long will the confrontation with the Punisher last, how does Elektra and the mysterious Hand organization fit in, and has everybody forgotten about Kingpin already?
