There are family reunions and safety in this peaceful settlement, but there’s trouble in paradise. Joel considers parting ways with Ellie, and understandably, Ellie is upset. The story is based on the memoirs of Eliot Ness, an American Prohibition agent bent on taking down Al Capone. Though Costner leads, Connery steals the show. This is one of the movies with iconic lines that you’ve heard, but aren’t sure where they’re from.
In under 90 minutes, this movie manages to offend, stupefy, and disturb. You’ll laugh, but not for the reasons the writers want you to. It’s worth noting that one of the three writers of this movie is Blake Snyder. Snyder is the author of the best-selling screenwriting book, Save The Cat.
