Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 606 – Always Accountable

Jim and A.Ron want to hold someone “Always Accountable” for what is, on the surface, a serviceable enough episode of The Walking Dead, but becomes on reflection, a tedious seeming waste of time for us the viewers.
Daryl loses his bike and his ‘bow, Abraham gets some new threads and a new plan for life, and Sasha gets a walrus mustached possibly recovering death jockey for a boyfriend. Along the way, there’s forest fires, melted zombies, Cherokee roses, improbably diabetics, and a truck named Patty. All this and plenty of feedback, in a fairly dispirited podcast. We’ll hope for better this weekend, and either way, we’ll see you then.

Bald Move Prestige - The Proposition (2005)

Many thanks to Tim aka “DoubleT” from our forums for commissioning another (he previously commissioned the awesome “Animal Kingdom”) Aussie modern classic, 2005’s “The Proposition”.  It can be best described as an Australian flavored Western, sharing many similarities with the American genre while bestowing the style with the unique characteristics of the Australian landscape and it’s own history with outlaws and indigenous people.  Starring Guy Pierce, Danny Huston, and Sam Winstone, it is bleak, unforgiving, at times enigmatic and impenetrable.  If you like “Unforgiven”, “3:10 to Yuma”, “True Grit” or any of the gritty modern Westerns, you’ll no doubt be as absorbed as we were.

Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 606 – Always Accountable – Instant Take

Jim and A.Ron have seen episode 606, “Always Accountable” of The Walking Dead. Of that fact we are certain. We’re more fuzzy about the who, what and where of “Accountable”. But we’re crystal clear that the concept of Abraham possessing RPG’s is going to be pretty epic one of these days. I mean, look at what Carol did with a bottle rocket back at Terminus. Anyway, use the links below to get in touch and we’ll see you back here Tuesday for our full coverage podcast!

Direct - Quentin Tarantino – Jackie Brown

Time to revisit one of Tarantino’s most overlooked and most interesting films. Like most QT pictures, Jackie Brown is a movie that references the past while living firmly within the era it’s set. In this ‘cast, Eric and Levi walk through the deep characters, the twisting plot, and the powerhouse performances of this (maybe too long) cinematic experience. Join us next week for Kill Bill vol. 1.

American Horror Story Podcast - 506 – Room 33

Happy Friday the 13th / Double White Russian day! A.Ron and Cecily are here to talk about the latest episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, “Room 33”. We were treated to a delightful if non-sequitur love affair between Liz and Tristan, more Alex being Alex, John being John, Gaga kind of being awful, Iris being a weapons akimbo badass, and poor Scarlet once again being the neglected afterthought. Oh, and Gaga has a baby glampire, which isn’t as glamorous as one would think. All this plus a bit of the ol’ mailbag, and we’ll see you back next week to hopefully figure out who the police have wrongfully connected to the TCK murders!

Fargo - 205 – The Gift of the Magi

Fargo episode 205, “Gift of the Magi”, was a real deal… Both sides of the Gerhardt and KC war take grievous losses, tensions between Bear and Dodd threaten to boil over, Hanzee’s loyalties are tested, Peggy has an apparent change of heart, but alas, it’s too late; Ed has killed another fella, maybe two! We discuss all the happenings and theories going down this episode, with assists from our fellow fans.
