It’s a slick episode of Shogun. Mariko, played by Anna Sawai, has been a stand out character since the pilot. In this episode she unleashes her full power and charges full steam ahead into battle. Yabushige is just as psychotic and humorous as before. Would he make a last minute “conversion” to save his own skin? It might be the laugh Jim and A.Ron need after this episode.
In this episode of Shogun, Jim and A.Ron clock the character changes. Toranaga is at the beginning of something great. Yabushige is ranking deaths. Mariko has a wicked kill. Blackthorne beats up his fellow sailors. There is change on the horizon for this world.
Shogun just can’t miss. This episode recontextualizes some of the death-oriented attitudes of previous episodes. Jim and A.Ron, self-described aging prostitutes, are tackling this episode with all the fervor of someone preparing for battle. With ice cold lines, tragic backstories, and surprises bursting through the wall, this episode will have you on the edge of your seat.
It’s the last ride of Rick and Michonne (maybe) and it’s streets ahead of the previous episode. Jim and A.Ron feel like they’ve seen this plot before…oh yeah, The Walking Dead is recycling their scripts again. The finale is a clip show of past foul deeds. In this episode of Shogun, we get a deeper look into the characters of Lady Ochiba and Mariko. Thought you’d have a chance to catch your breath, not a chance! The Iron Fist unleashes, Mariko and Blackthorne’s relationship deepens, and Toranaga’s hearts are still hidden.
The zombie apocalypse is a lot nicer when you have noodles and drinks. Jim hated this episode of The Ones Who Live, A.Ron found a few things to like. Jadis gets her moment in the spotlight (ew). There’s a new zombie type. George Lucas must have written the dialogue. Next week is the series finale!

On this episode of The Ones Who Live, silly action is balanced out by the stunning performances. Danai Gurira not only plays Michonne, she also wrote the script. A.Ron appreciates the emotional levels of this episode, Jim says “beep, boop”. Will Rick come back to his family? Doubtful since Judith was never mentioned.
