Kelly & Tom are simply delighted with the goings-on in Yorkshire and the most romantic city in the world in their recap of Downton Abbey S5E3. They love absolutely everything McG gets up to, wax nostalgic for Series 1, figure out how The Brady Bunch would have gone down in Germany, talk smack about Little…
Cecily and A.Ron muddle through a podcast for episode 412 of American Horror Story: Freak Show entitled “Show Stoppers”. The episode had one hilariously awesome moment between Chester and Maggie, an awkward homage to the classic horror film “Freaks”, and a dumb plot for dumb Jimmy about his dumb hands where he screams and yells a lot. On the positive side, lots of our extremely smart listeners were shot calling and balling their predictions, which is always fun. At the end, we’re left wondering what to expect for the finale next week, “Curtain Calls”? All this, plus a good helping of feedback. See you next week, freaks!
This podcast for 2014’s “The Imitation Game” was commissioned on Subbable by a shadowy MI6 agent who for reasons of operational security, would prefer to remain anonymous. We have seen the film, and we have very mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it is an artistic and emotional triumph, which really helped us empathize with Alan Turing’s life long struggle as a brilliant autistic homosexual man to be accepted and loved as he led the Allied war effort to break the “unbreakable” Nazi Enigma encryption system and save millions of lives. On the other hand, the film takes so many personal and historical liberties with Turing’s very real life and the very real Project Ultra that we don’t know what to believe.
Justified is back, and after two long years, so are we. We talk about the Good, Bad, and the Ugly of season five, and our hopes and fears of season six. Who lives? Who dies? Who rides off into the sunset, happily ever after? Bottom line; Raylan vs Boyd is the matchup we’ve been waiting…
In this re-watch of Breaking Bad episode 208, “Better Call Saul” we talk about criminal lawyers, panic attacks, turkey necks and the axes that love them, women marking their territory, and the sliding scale of how much a conscience is worth. All this, your feedback, and a fat, healthy spoiler section. Enjoy!
Kelly & Tom celebrate 100 episodes of UYDS with a recap of the plate of semolina that is Downton Abbey S5E2. They liven it up as best they can with fart noises, banter, and other vocal effects as they discuss Sherlock Holmes as the original Mentalist, Sex as Job Interview with Mary Crawley, the perfect…
American Horror Story: Freak Show returns and so do we! We very much enjoyed NPH’s arrival to our little traveling circus, because who the hell doesn’t like NPH? We also discuss the fate of Dell, our continued lack of interest in all things Jimmy, the marital arrangements of Chester, whether “The Molester” is a good idea for a stage name, and much more. All this, and your feedback, coming at ya!
Jim and A.Ron break down another great episode of Breaking Bad, episode 207, “Negro y Azul”. We discuss narcocorrido music, how many theories were spawned by the “Ballad of Heisenberg”, the nature of Jane and Jesse, and Skyler and Ted’s relationship, and explore the concept of Hank’s panic attacks being a hidden strength instead of an obvious weakness. All this, plus lots of questioning Pinkman fashion, lots of fan feedback, and a robust spoiler section. Enjoy!
Kelly and Tom are thrilled to return to Downton Abbey for its S5 premiere! They wrap up some pressing questions regarding Dune and hanging meat til it’s high before getting into their discussion of Baron Julian’s email address, their newfound hatred of Gareth Neame, Chekov’s fire brigade chief, the fragility of footmen, Baxter still being…
Jim and A.Ron shake off the rust of their Christmas vacation by getting down and dirty with an early standout episode of Breaking Bad, 206 “Peekaboo”. In it we discuss the definition of the word “skank”, the biggest lie ever told on Breaking Bad, the ethics of exposing a friend’s elaborate web of lies, and where we come down on the Walt vs Gretchen fight. All this, your feedback, and a healthy spoiler section await your New Year’s Eve perusal.
