Next up in the Badass lineup is Demolition Man! Sylvester Stallone (badass status pending) and Wesley Snipes star in a movie that came out at the tail end of roided-up action flicks. San Angeles is a utopia/dystopia full of the ultimate cringe in laws, logic, and slang. And Stallone isn’t having it. The cops release Snipes to take down the swearing, violent Stallone. Watch these two rampage across the nanny state.
Does Jesse have a type? When he feels rejected by Jane some comparisons to Walt start to emerge. More bad news, male kangaroos don’t have pouches. Junior gets his first taste of Tequila and what’s been bubbling up between Hank and Walt comes out in the worst possible way. This is peak decay in Walt’s journey of growth, decay, and transformation, and as much as he’d like to become something different he’s looking a lot more like Heisneberg than even he understands.
Lunchtime! What are the underrated movie trilogies? Would you rather have stormtrooper armor or a DIY grizzy survival suit? Will Twitter exist in 2024? We ponder all these questions and more on this week’s edition of LWJ&A.
It has been 138 years since the first season of Foundation but it’s finally returning to Apple TV+ on July 14th, so open your cryopod, thaw yourself out, and refresh your memory with our season 2 preview. And remember to respect and enjoy the podcast.
The crew of the Enterprise needs to clean up a botched mission that violated the Prime Directive. A strange illness passes over them and they rapidly begin to forget who they are. Armed with only base instinct and curiosity, can the crew regain their memory without losing their humanity? And A.Ron would like to point out that Star Trek often has good (and bad) dating advice for young nerds.
Arya finds herself in the darkest possible place. Torture, rape, and senseless murder are before her daily as Gregor Clegane goes to work. Tara Jenkins returns to talk about the psychological impact.
