Bald Move Pulp - Twin Peaks Seasons 1 and 2 with Shayne Bowman

Shayne Bowman, proprietor of the Heisenberg Chronicles as well as all around friend of the show, joins me to discuss Twin Peaks classic, before I take my plunge into Twin Peaks: The Return. We talk about our history with the show, what it was like to watch “back in the day”, Shayne’s longtime fascination with David Lynch, what works, and what doesn’t, and if it even matters when you’re watching something as off the map as Twin Peaks. If you liked this, stay tuned, there will be more once I get caught up to The Return!

Empire Business – Advertising

We’re starting a new feature designed to give you a more transparent look into the day to day decisions and inner workings of the Bald Move empire, exclusively for our club members. In honor of one of the all-time great series and the one that gave us our start, we’re calling it Empire Business. It isn’t meant to be a regular weekly feature, it’s more of a “whenever we have something interesting to talk about and remember to turn the mics on” kind of thing. This episode covers podcast advertising. How it works, what are the unique challenges that Bald Move faces when securing advertising, and our plans for the future. We hope you enjoy it.

HOTD: A House of the Dragon Podcast - 702 – Stormborn

Jim and A.Ron “Stormborn” was a great episode of Game of Thrones, with tons of highlight scenes. It also has a bit of a Euron and Sandsnake problem, but we don’t think it’s fatal, assuming Dan and David can tear off the affected portions of the show and apply medicinal ointment to stem the spread of ludicrous jetpackery and shipbuildery that threaten our collective suspension of disbelief. We also discuss Sansa and Jon’s uneasy sharing of power, Littlefinger’s increasing desperation, what price Tyrion will pay for his plan failing, and Arya’s emotional reunion on the show. All this, tons of feedback, and WAIT THERE’S MORE! A whole SpoiLore edition of the show coming out Friday!

Bald Move Prestige - Dunkirk (2017)

We’ve seen Christopher Nolan’s new film, the war epic Dunkirk, and found it hard to immediately react to. It’s a very visceral, claustrophobic, unflinching, and moving film, epic in scale, but equally effective in zooming in to focus on a small number of actual human beings to focus on and care about. It offers views of the best and worst of humanity, and constantly dares you to both judge and empathize with the men dealing death and narrowly avoiding it. Another fantastic film from Nolan.
