We’re (reluctantly) back! And while it has been 2 years, we still remember most of the characters’ (nick)names. There’s a lot of work to do to pave over the (awful) plotting of the previous seasons but Angela and the crew are doing their best. Is it good (enough)?
This week’s lunch includes topics such as the current events in America (but not too much), bringing back wooly mammoths, T-Rex faces, getting rid of peanut butter, re-purposing abandoned theaters / shopping malls, and more.
Jim and A.Ron talk about Silent Movies and new content plans. They also discuss True Detective Season 2 and schemers, charmers, badasses, psychos, gangsters, and survivors.
Children of Men is a fondly-remembered, dystopian, science fiction thriller about the end of humanity, from Alfonso Cuarón’s mid-2000’s filmography. A.Ron has never seen it. Rick and Morty wraps season 4 with a series of solid goofs, questions answered in the least answery way possible, SERIALIZATION!!, and perhaps a whole new, healthier spin on dysfunctional family dynamics. Join us for a discussion about the season finale, Star Mort: Rickturn of the Jerri.
This week we talk about what factors we consider when moving, shows that we were sad to move on from, and whole lot of other stuff. Listen here to discover the topics for yourself.
In Episode #28, originally aired on 5.29.15:
Jim and A.Ron discuss podcasters behaving badly, the dark side of podcasting, movies that we’d hate to see be re-made, how Fury Road and John Wick herald the future of action movies, and our favorite Always Sunny moments. And we take some Q&A from audience, as we are wont to do.
The Talented Mr. Ripley is a name for a film that only appeals to grandmothers above a certain age. And more specifically, English ones. They also have boring taste in men. But don’t let the name fool you; the Talented Mr. Ripley is an excellent thriller and, unlike our podcast, it is decidedly not for boring English grandmothers.
