LWJ&A – Episode 277 – You Get What You Get

Our first lunch of 2021 starts off with a discussion of what we got up to during our time off and some of the gifts we got for Christmas. Then I go all in on a new NAS, we talk about watch parties, A.Ron eviscerates Chrysler with a scathing rant, we talk fantasy books and our reading habits, and more. And during the whole lunch, we manage to only talk a little about what went down in our Capitol two days ago.

The Expanse - S05E06 – Tribes

It’s a slower episode this week as we set up for what’s sure to be a big finish. Amos and Claire figure out their next move while grappling with the monstrous implications of those actions, Bobbie and Alex try to survive on the float, and a tough choice is put to Drummer during her meeting with Marco.

House of the Dragon - Electric Bookaloo: Arya I

Anthony finally gets to talk about his favorite character! Lisa Woolfork talks about Sam and Arya. Robert Rouse talks about chapter 7 and discusses medieval travel narratives and cartography. Steve and Anthony get deep into the plot and themes of season one. Gregory Webster explores Arya’s complex identity. Anthony suggests four ways that Roman religion influenced Martin’s world: why is the number seven significant?

Bald Move Prestige - The Holiday “leftovers” – with Kim Renfro and Joanna Robinson

A.Ron can’t get enough of The Holiday, so he recruits two all-star Christmas rom-com veterans for this important discourse. Kim Renfro from Insider and Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair join the podcast to discuss The Holiday’s place in romantic comedy history, gumption, fantasy kitchens, healthy levels of “scroodily-doo”, and dream of a Nancy Meyers theme park.

Elf (2003)

What would Christmas be without a heartfelt message of cheer and togetherness? Elf starts out on a sad and lonely note, but by the end our spirits are lifted. Hopefully we accomplished the same this Christmas season with our podcasts. Thank you to everyone who has joined us for these past few weeks of celebration. Enjoy the final podcast of the season, and we’ll see you next year!
