Robert DeNiro, playing bounty hunter Jack Walsh, chases down a man called “The Duke”. What is supposed to be an easy grab quickly deteriorates into a messy, action-packed cross-country road trip. With both the mob and the FBI on his tail, Jack must get The Duke from New York to Los Angeles in a matter of days.

Jim and I have the sheer delight of watching the sublime Coen Brothers’ 1998 film, The Big Lebowski. One of the forerunners of the “slacker noir” genre, Lebowski is hugely entertaining and surprisingly deep film. We talk about Jeff Bridges magic, new shit coming to light, try to figure out Maude, gush about the late, great, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, the downfall of bowling, and much, much more.

Hollywood heartthrob Michael B. Jordan both stars in and directs the newest Creed movie. It’s the ninth movie in the Rocky series and the opponents just keep getting more ripped. Jonathan Majors, fresh from his Marvel body-building boot camp, steps into the ring to challenge Creed. This movie has heart, camp, and a daring fight. Put on your gloves and check out Creed III with Jim and A.Ron.
Days of Thunder is the semi-dramatic car-racing cousin of Talladega Nights. Director Tony Scott has helmed other high caliber projects such as Top Gun and Crimson Tide. It’s written by Robert Towne who penned Chinatown and Mission Impossible 1 and 2. So why did this movie turn out to be silly? Well, it could be the relationship between Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. Maybe it’s Michael Rookers’ lack of caution with his brain bleed. Whatever it was, it didn’t stop Robert Ebert from breaking the ethos of Tom Cruise down to a science.
This was the sixth annual Groundhog Day and it was a resounding success thanks to the support of the Bald Move community! This year, Jim and A.Ron watched the entire Fast and Furious franchise to raise money for the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund and they had a great time along the way. In this episode you will hear from Connor Swan from Cure Alz Foundation and get a peek into the AI madness that kept Jim and A.Ron laughing at the odd hours of the night.
Jack Nicholson, already 20 years into his career, stars as a patient in a mental institution. Nurse Ratched, a sick and twisted caregiver, rules the ward. A young Danny DeVito will impress you. The movie itself will gaslight you. And the treatment of the mentally ill will horrify you, but it’s not the 21st century, so it’s expected.
Scott Lang aka Ant-Man is back, and wouldn’t you know it, his daughter is a freaky genius like every other teenager in the MCU. After her invention sucks the Pym family into the Quantum Realm, they have to figure out how to survive a place with more crazy rules than your DnD manual. Jim wasn’t impressed, but A.Ron had fun, so it’s a lively discussion.

This movie stars Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Andy Garcia, Robert De Niro, and Patricia Clarkson in Al Capone’s Prohibition Era Chicago. The story is based on the memoirs of Eliot Ness, an American Prohibition agent bent on taking down Al Capone. Though Costner leads, Connery steals the show. This is one of the movies with iconic lines that you’ve heard, but aren’t sure where they’re from.
You’ve probably heard people say “Rosebud”, but have no idea what they’re talking about. Jim and A.Ron are here to enlighten you. Orson Welles, as a 24 year old, co-wrote, directed, and starred in this bastion of American cinema. It’s an impressive jump for Welles to go from terrifying the nation with his fictional alien broadcasts to creating one of the best movies ever made.
