Super Serious Film Fest – Season of the Cage Retrospective

In the past 6 weeks, we’ve learned more about Nicolas Cage than we ever thought we would, or ever really cared to. So for the final week of season 1 of Super Serious Film Fest we’ve decided to do a retrospective on the whole process. We talk about our favorite moments from Season of the Cage as well as the most interesting things we learned about the man himself, Nicolas Cage.

Bald Move TV – The Romanoffs – 106 – Panorama

Jim and A.Ron think this latest episode of Amazon’s The Romanoffs, “Panorama” is a mess. At best, it’s a mildly interesting yet gorgeous travelogue for Mexico City. At worst, it’s a poorly, written, directed, acted, and edited mess that seems to have no idea what it wants to say, and doesn’t know enough about the topics to offer any depth to the things it reaches for. The only thing that kind of works is the relationship between the two ridiculously photogenic protagonists, but they are also the least interesting of the premises. Our hope for this series is now that Weiner can make one really exceptional episode out of the next two, or the finale episode is truly “The One That Holds Everything” and somehow ties this all together.

Stranger Things – 106 – Chapter Six: The Monster

Jim and A.Ron offer their takes on Netflix’s Stranger Things episode, “The Monster”.   We’re undertaking a rewatch and podcast for every episode of season one to get pumped up for season two, which premiers on October 27, 2017!  We’ll be doing a season two preview this Friday, October 20th.  Got feedback?  Send it in using the contacts below!  We’ll be covering the entirety of season two the weekend beginning Oct 27th!  Come marathon Stranger Things with us!

Legion – 106 – Chapter 6

Jim, A.Ron and Jason join in the demented group therapy happening on this week’s episode of FX’s Legion. Lenny does some James Bond vamping, David is loving his new found stability, and Syd thinks that things just aren’t… right. On this show, they never are. Also, listener feedback, and Jason treats us to another news/spoiler section at the tail end of the episode.

Bald Move TV – The Young Pope – 105 & 106 – Episodes 5 & 6

When we began this podcast, we expected to have a lot of fun laughing at the crazy outfits and Jude Law strutting around chewing scenery left and right. And we were right about that, that is pretty funny and a delight to look at. But these last few episodes have revealed a show with much more substance than we were initially led to believe with the premise. What sort of revolution is the Young Pope wanting to lead? Can the Pope continue to cow heretics and Prime Ministers alike with threats of no win situations and divine retribution? Is Jude Law’s butt proof of the existence of God?

Watching Westworld – 106 – The Adversary

Seems like whether you loved the latest episode of HBO’s Westworld, “The Adversary” depends on how much you bought into Maeve running roughshod over two bumbling technicians toiling in the bowls of Westworld’s meat department. Jim’s struggling with this. Meanwhile A.Ron might very well be teetering too close to the crazy town of Tinfoil. We record, you decide!
