We’ve seen the latest from FX’s American Horror Story: Cult, “Charles (Manson) in Charge”, and it turns out that it’s all the women’s fault! We should have known it the whole time! A.Ron and Cecily try to figure out where Murphy is going as he crosses the double yellow and veers into oncoming traffic a final time before next week where maybe things will make sense!
Jim and A.Ron were blown away by the latest real time “oner” episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.4_runtime-err0r.r00”. We think the technique was employed skillfully here, increasing the drama, tension, and immediacy. We’re also left with a lot of questions regarding the state of Stage 2, Angela’s relative hacking skills, the nature of Mr. Robot’s relationship with Elliot, and we’d love to know exactly what Darlene is up to, and how much of her plan the FBI has signed off on. More answers surely to come, but this was a fun ride!

A.Ron and Jim saw the most recent film adaptation of the Agatha Christie mystery classic, Murder on the Orient Express. Directed and starring Kenneth Branagh, as well as a baker’s dozen other stars, is lush and lavish and maybe missing a few pieces it needs to be assembled into a fully functional whole? It’s like an Ikea bookshelf with a few screws and dowel rods missing, is what we’re saying. Once again commissioner Fernando Rodriguez (you may better know him as FernNYC17 on our forums) steps up with a choice selection, this time the oft maligned Return of the Jedi. Often dismissed as derivative or childish when compared to A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back respectively, we have nothing but love for the climax of the story of Skywalker. It’s got the best space battle, the best lightsabre battle, and the best puppets in all of Star Wars. The Special Edition changes? Not so much love.
A.Ron has lost his mind in Morgan fashion, coming out in favor of this episode, but just because he’s not right, that don’t make him wrong. Jim decries the heavy handed Morgalizing and shoddily constructed action, and then, just when we’re at our darkest hour, Guy Ferrari arrives to save the podcast.

Jim and A.Ron are nearing the finish line of their retro-re-watch of Game of Thrones season two. This week is one of the all time great episodes, “Blackwater”. There aren’t many heroes or villains in this one, just brave men fighting each other in desperate and bloody fashion. Great action, but even greater character moments for Sansa, Cersei, Tyrion, and the Hound. We have a lot of fun gushing over this episode, then we bat clean up with feedback and our SpoiLore section at the very end of the podcast.
USA’s Mr. Robot continues to tease out the plot for season three, as all the major players are keeping things pretty close to the vest as the circle each other, testing loyalties, telling version of the truth they think people want to hear, and sniffing for betrayals. We break down some of the most popular theories for what White Rose is cooking up with the Dark Army, talk about the possible fate of Darlene, and discuss if we’re sure we have it nailed down exactly when Elliot is Elliot and when he’s Mr. Robot.
