The boys are back in town along with a host of new, but familiar faces. Our weekend-long binge watch of Stranger Things season 2 begins now!
Cecily and A.Ron take in the latest episode of FX’s American Horror Story: Cult, “Winter of Our Discontent”, where Winter starts to question some of Kai’s leadership and strategy. Or does she? Who knows, perhaps all will be revealed / retconned in a flashback. We also discuss the hilarious/glorious sex ritual Kai comes with, Vincent’s relationship with his siblings, Ally slapping a “NO FEAR” sticker to the back of her Prius, and A.Ron prays to Twisty to deliver us from evil on this upcoming Halloween. Speaking of which, next episode comes on on Halloween!! See you then…
A.Ron and Jim are a bit divided on this episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead, “Mercy”. “Mercy” seems to be the dominant theme of this season, with Rick’s warpath sharply contrasted to Carl’s desire for hope and open handedness. Lots of butt gets kicked this episode, surprisingly the majority of the butt kicked consists of glass panes and not Saviors or zombies. And there are a few head scratching flash forwards/backs/sideways. But just look at that sweet shot of Daryl blowing up stuff real good!
Jim and A.Ron consider “A Man Without Honor”, the latest season two episode on our re-watch of HBO’s Game of Thrones. This episode is about revealing the true characters of people like Jamie, Cersei, Tyrion, Tywin, Shae, Sansa, and Robb, and the thing you take away is that these are all people, multifaceted, conflicting, contradictory, but in a way that feels human and real. And Dany, is you know… looking for her dragons.
A.Ron and Jim have seen the latest episode of USA Network’s Mr. Robot, “eps3.1_undo.gz”, and after downing some Zoloft, feel prepared to discuss it. Topics include A.Ron’s new TOTTDAB scale, the stunning development with Joanna, the identity of the f-society faker, Mr. Robot’s birthday, the latest installment of the ARG, feedback, and much more!
A.Ron and Cecily discuss the latest episode of FX’s American Horror Story: Cult, “Valerie Solanis Died for Your Sins: Scumbag”. We discuss the proper use of colons, the history of Andy Warhol and the titular Valerie Solanis, the plot twist with the newly introduced Bebe, mourning for missed Russell Edgington opportunities, and Lena Dunham.
Jim and A.Ron get hyped for season two of Netflix’s Stranger Things! We discuss the various trailers, interviews, previews, try to piece together the plot and make predictions, discuss our hopes and fears, and consider a bit of feedback before signing off until next weekend. Again, our plan is to marathon the season over the weekend of October 27th. That means we’ll have all 9 episodes out and covered before Monday morning. Got feedback? Send it in to the links below and we’ll consider it on our season two wrap up podcast!
Jim and A.Ron look ahead to season 8 of The Walking Dead! We discuss our thoughts on the promo materials, the legal bombshells that dropped over the spring/summer break, and finally we get spoilery discussing the comic book version of the “All Out War” storyline at the end of the pod. See you this weekend!…
The realm is apparently unsafe for those beloved to Theon and A.Ron this week as we discuss the treachery of Theon sacking Winterfell, the role A.Ron had in the death of Roy Dotrice (94), along with everything else that this decidedly good episode of Game of Thrones had to offer.
