Pickle Me This - S01E09 – Something Ricked This Way Comes

Rick does battle with the Devil in Rick and Morty episode S01E09, “Something Ricked This Way Comes”. As far as we know, Georgia was not involved, thought I do remember seeing a fiddle. Meanwhile, Jerry’s intellectual insecurity entangles him into some sketchy inner-dwarf-planet politics. As always, our initial review and episode discussion are spoiler-free for first time…

Pickle Me This - S01E08 – Rixty Minutes

Grab a big bowl of Strawberry Smiggles, because it’s time for Inter-dimensional cable! “Rixty Minutes” is another signature Rick and Morty episode. You can’t go wrong with locking some talented improv artists in a recording booth and then having amazing animators bring whatever comes out of their mouth to life. And the B-plot brings a lot of of dark emotional truths to the Smith family.

Pickle Me This - S01E07 – Raising Gazorpazorp

Rick and Morty has a lot to say about parenting and matriarchy in “Raising Gazorpazorp”. And the crude, repulsive creature that is the teenage boy. We debate the propriety and validity of the comedy built around the feminist utopia depicted here, because we figure the whole world can’t wait to hear what two dudes think about it. Plus, we brush up on our Latin and get Biblical to decipher important texts!

Pickle Me This - S01E06 – Rick Potion #9

There are many times you’ll watch Rick and Morty and your jaw drops, and what can you say but, “bruh”? “Rick Potion #9” is one of those times! We talk a good deal about how much we love this episode and the ethics and morality of inter-dimensional travel in particular. And what does it say about the Smith family that they thrive in an Armageddon scenario?

Pickle Me This - S01E05 – Meeseeks and Destroy

S01E05 of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, “Meeseeks and Destroy”, asks if Morty can lead a successful and entertaining adventure. Ooh, he’s tryin’! Also, Rick dispenses street justice, Beth struggles to be a complete woman, Summer struggles to achieve the acceptance of his peers, and Jerry struggles with his golf game. As always, our initial review and episode discussion are spoiler-free for first time fans, but we have plenty of in-depth discussion of spoilers and behind the scenes details when we tune into dimension BM-77 at the end of the podcast!

Pickle Me This - S01E04 – M. Night Shaym-Aliens!

This episode of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, S01E04, “M. Night Shaym-Aliens!” has us questioning whether we’re living in a simulation. Or even a simulation of a simulation. Will Rick out-scam the scammers? Is Morty even real? Will Jerry cement his status as world’s most pathetic human? Can any of these questions be answered other than “yes”?! As always, our initial review and episode discussion are spoiler-free for first time fans, but we have plenty of in-depth discussion of spoilers and behind the scenes details when we tune into dimension BM-77 at the end of the podcast!

Pickle Me This - S01E03 – Anatomy Park

It’s Christmas in August as we check out S01E03 of Rick and Morty, “Anatomy Park”. Rick’s doing charitable work with the homeless, Jerry’s parents have him questioning his concept of a “human holiday”, and Morty makes it to second base before being tagged out at third. As always, our initial review and episode discussion are spoiler-free for first time fans, but we have plenty of in-depth discussion of spoilers and behind the scenes details when we tune into dimension BM-77 at the end of the podcast!

Pickle Me This - S01E02 – Lawnmower Dog

As we re-watch S01E02 of Rick and Morty Jim and I ponder the plight of the adorably tyrannical Snowball, the antagonist of “Lawnmower Dog”. Thoughts are also provoked as Rick and Morty attempt to Incept the concept of good grades into Mr. Goldenfold! As always, our initial review and episode discussion are spoiler-free for first time fans, but we have plenty of in-depth discussion of spoilers and behind the scenes details when we tune into dimension BM-77 at the end of the podcast!

S01E01 – Pilot

Jim and A.Ron are starting our officially unofficial binge through the many universes that are Rick and Morty! We find the boring, predictable, best way to start anything is at the beginning, which is where we find ourselves here with our discussion of the “Pilot” episode. There’s a lot to unpack with all the new characters introduced, and their relationships and dynamics, then throw multi-verse theory on top. If this is your first time through Rick and Morty, don’t even trip about spoilers, dog. We got your non-spoiler review and episode discussion up front, fool! And for you grizzled Rick and Morty veterans, we got a special section at the end where we go waaaayyy up the show’s b-hole with news, behind the scenes details, Easter eggs, and discussion of future plots.
