HOTD: A House of the Dragon Podcast - Season 5 Wrapup

Jim and A.Ron wrap up their season five coverage with a little bit of reflection, some predictions and theories for next year, and a whole lot of email.  Don’t forget we’ll be playing through Tell Tale’s Game of Thrones video game, starting tonight at 7:30pm EST.  You can watch live or later at your leisure, but you will have to be a Club member to view our play through.  Otherwise, see you next season!

HOTD: A House of the Dragon Podcast - 510 – Mother’s Mercy

Jim and A.Ron weight the merits of the season five finale of HBO’s Game of Thrones; episode 510 entitled “Mother’s Mercy”… We discuss Arya’s punishment for stealing from the Many Faced God, Jaime becoming a father, Stannis’s last stand, Sansa and Theon’s leap of faith, Dany’s dealing with a rebellious Drogon, and the mutiny at the Wall. All this and tons of feedback — AND — this is not over yet. We’ll be back Friday for the final SpoiLORE segment of the season, and next Tuesday for a season five wrap up, where we’ll talk about the season overall, how it stacks up against the previous four, and our hopes, fears, and predictions for next year.

HOTD: A House of the Dragon Podcast - 510 – Mother’s Mercy – Instant Take

A.Ron and Jim have a lot to say about the season finale of Game of Thrones, episode 510, “Mother’s Mercy”. An episode that brought the boys around on a few plots, and featured cliffhangers stacked upon cliffhangers. We’ll have much more to say on the full featured cast, coming out on Tuesday, and we’ll also have a final SpoiLORE cast Friday. See you then!

HOTD: A House of the Dragon Podcast - 509 – The Dance of Dragons

A few days of reflection and a few more rewatches have not been any kinder to our memories of episode 509, entitled “The Dance of Dragons”… Arya’s subplot was uncharacteristically flat and obvious, Stannis is no longer the Mannis, things in Meereen were thrilling and epic but suffered from a bit of execution (too soon?) problems, and Dorne… well, it’s Dorne, which is an old Valyrian word for “crap”. Hopefully next week we’ll get a ray of sunshine as we finish of the series. Perhaps somebody will order a Code Red on Ramsay and his A Few Good Men? Or maybe Dany and Drogon will ride back in town, free the other two dragons, and Tyrion and a suddenly awesome Daario can take the skies together in a magical hour of fun and friendship! Either that, or characters we know and love will be brutalized before our eyes as we take emotional kick after emotional kick straight to the emotional crotch. Please sirs, can we have another?! Check back Friday for our SpoiLORE cast, were A.Ron will be moderating a debate consisting of “Stannis; the Monster that Betrayed Us All” versus “Stannis; We Probably Should Have Seen This Coming All Along”.
