Bald Move Pulp - Badass Fest VI: Speed (1994)

There’s something worse on the Los Angeles freeways than the LA drivers. Officer Jack Traven, played by all-around-good-guy Keanu Reeves, must save a busload of people from a bomb on board. Joining him is Sandra Bullock and the two will swerve their way through the dangers of maniacal men, explosives, and traffic. It’s a good time and makes you thankful for cruise control.

Bald Move Pulp - Badass Fest V: Demolition Man (1993)

CHAMPION. CHARISMA. CHARACTER. These are the qualities that make a badass.
Next up in the Badass lineup is Demolition Man! Sylvester Stallone (badass status pending) and Wesley Snipes star in a movie that came out at the tail end of roided-up action flicks. San Angeles is a utopia/dystopia full of the ultimate cringe in laws, logic, and slang. And Stallone isn’t having it. The cops release Snipes to take down the swearing, violent Stallone. Watch these two rampage across the nanny state.

A Time to Kill (1996)

This movie poses the question, “How do we feel about vigilante justice?” Carl Lee Hailey, played by Samuel L. Jackson, faces trial for taking revenge on the men who brutalized his young daughter. The movie treads multiple fine lines about race, justice, and hatred in America. Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, and Donald Sutherland round out the cast in this time capsule of Hollywood’s take on justice in 1996. Does it still work?
