HOTD: A House of the Dragon Podcast - 801 – Winterfell

Jim and A.Ron are here to break down all the action from this week’s premiere episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones, “Winterfell”. And indeed the ancestral home of House Stark houses the direwolf’s share of the action and intrigue, as characters are reunited, dragons are flown, and divisions within the forces of the Living threaten to undermine the war against the Dead. It’s clear that sharing power and cooperating is going to be a challenge, not only for Jon and Dany, but for the many different peoples who have thrown in their lot with them. We’ll be back Friday for our SpoiLORE edition that delves into the background details of the World of Ice and Fire as well as mines for hidden details that may yet remain in the source books!

American Horror Story Podcast - 801 – The End – Instant Take

A.Ron and Cecily are back for another season of Ryan Murphy Madness, this time in Apocalyptic form! Tonight’s season opener of FX’s American Horror Story: Apocalypse felt strangely paced, as it seemed we were hurried along a lot of very interesting settings to get to a weird man with flat ironed hair. Which probably means this season is going to jump around like a horseshoe rabbit on methamphetamine. LA gets nuked, two teenagers we’re not sure why we should care about are ushered to a facility where the world’s elite plan to ride out the fall of civilization. They might be half brothers and sisters, they may be alien babies, one of them might be the Antichrist. Billy Eichner gets vaporized before the title sequence, which delighted and bummed us each out in equal and opposite measure. Ms. Paulson and Bates play purple playtime dress up. Horses get devoured? I guess? Probably radioactive scorpions… it’s just a lot to take in. We’ll be back tomorrow to talk more and discuss your feedback, so please send some in so we all don’t look silly.

Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 801 – Mercy

A.Ron and Jim are a bit divided on this episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead, “Mercy”.  “Mercy” seems to be the dominant theme of this season, with Rick’s warpath sharply contrasted to Carl’s desire for hope and open handedness. Lots of butt gets kicked this episode, surprisingly the majority of the butt kicked consists of glass panes and not Saviors or zombies.  And there are a few head scratching flash forwards/backs/sideways.  But just look at that sweet shot of Daryl blowing up stuff real good!
