It’s business as usual in this recap of Downton Abbey S2:E7 as Kelly and Tom chat about the Edwardian equivalent of Yahoo! Answers, Sir Richard’s epigrams, Grantham Bucks, Jane’s possible alcoholism, the Sallie Mae Shed of Failure, the zenith/nadir of Lady Mary’s bitchery, the capabilities of knickers, and Lord Grantham’s post-war hipster proclivities. They also…
Feeling kind of sick tonight, so it’s a plain jane podcast post. This is your weekly fix of Mad Men gab regarding episode 505, “Signal 30”. This cast felt good, I think you’ll like it. If you want to give us a shout out, or otherwise give us a piece of your mind, email us, check…
Kelly and Tom are joined by Boars, Gore, and Swords co-hosts Ivan Hernandez and Red Scott for the most upsetting episode of this podcast ever. In their recap of Downton Abbey S2:E6, the gang chats about all things Canadian, Downton’s own Scrooge McDuck, the emergence of the “Jaters,” Mrs. Patmore on Hoarders, what men get…
The season three finale of Justified, “Slaughterhouse”! Some of you thought it was brilliant, some of you liked it, some of you were disappointed, but it happened, and now we need to talk about it, and where it leaves us for seasons to come. We talk about our reactions, the recap, what Yost says is coming down the pike, and lots of your feedback. Hopefully we’ll have one more retrospective with a special guest, but if not, see you next season!
Welcome to our podcast for Mad Men episode 504, “Mystery Date”. This week features child abuse, drug abuse, dream girl abuse, Roger abuse, and podcast host abuse. Kelly and Tom make plans to maintain their sanity, advise the Cousins about driving safety, and go for a spin on “Whore Mansion.” They also speculate about William’s new mother, babies with mustaches, the probability that Matthew is the Antichrist or Darth Vader, champagne brunches, Daisy’s stress relief, the feasibility of chucking a bullet, the…
A pretty satisfying lead up to the finale that is marred only by a cleverly camouflaged but ultimately implausible escape attempt that involved opening up a kimono a little too much for everyone’s comfort. Quarles, Boyd, Limehouse, Dickie, and Raylan are all on a collision course. Who’s going to survive? We’ll find out next week, but until then, enjoy our recap, listener feedback, and a less useless than usual spoiler section, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Betty makes her big season five entrance, Mohawk makes a return flight to SCDP, Pete outmaneuvers Roger, Peggy hires some competition, and Don fears for the Next Generation. All this and your feedback too! Enjoy! If you want to give us a shout out, or otherwise give us a piece of your mind, email us, check…
At last, Kelly & Tom record a recap that’s not two hours long! They still manage to discuss Downton Abbey S2:E4 in its entirety, explain last week’s Character Ceasefire SNAFU, and rewrite a number of popular songs for your amusement. Other topics include Thomas’ futuristic sack, an attempt to delete sarcasm, Simon Pegg-leg’s cameo, the…
As I sit watching A.Ron chug moonshine and polish his revolver I can’t help but recount our history, wondering if I’ve done anything that might justify retribution. I’m fairly certain that the worst I deserve is a dutch oven next week when we share a room at PAX but it makes a man nervous. Since he’s indisposed, there will be no witty remarks nor clever wordplay; unless you consider the revolver comment a euphemism.
