Following The Leftovers - 206 – Lens

A.Ron and Jim have another insanely great experience in the insane world of “The Leftovers”, this one revolving around episode 206, “Lens”. We discuss the intense stare down between Nora and Erica, rocks thrown in glass houses, the mysteries that were revealed even as new ones are raised, subtle hints about the fate of the girls as revealed by the SDS’s questionnaire, a bunch of religious theories, Kevin’s confession, and much more, plus, tons of really great takes and feedback from our fellow fans. Also, we— wait, is that an eyelash on your cheek?

American Horror Story Podcast - 505 – Room Service

A.Ron and Cecily dive into the latest episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, “Room Service”, in which we get a lot of terrible Alex, a sermon on the dangers of not vaccinating our children, some fabulous Liz Taylor Russell Edgington, and what is perhaps the finest comeuppance in television history when Iris finally snaps on some loathsome human garbage. Plus, John discovers reporting a campy Halloween cult is the quickest way to get fired as LAPD, and there’s a pack of pre-teen glampires prowling the streets of LA. That can’t be good. All this, your feedback, and plenty of host on host snark.

Fargo - 204 – Fear and Trembling

Jim and A.Ron are pleasantly surprised at the pacing of Fargo season 2; while there might have been some cheats here and there and along the way, we’ve got the anticipated Kansas City / Fargo war declared just four episodes into the season, with “Fear and Trembling”. We also discuss revelations about Dodd’s character, Ed and Peggy’s relationship in contrast to Lou and Betsy’s, Nick Offerman’s plumbing stressing performance of Carl Weathers, Hanzee’s bizarre encounter with a UFO, more fake Reagan movies, and a smattering of feedback.

Following The Leftovers - 205 – “No Room at the Inn”

Jim and A.Ron are once again blown away by an episode of The Leftovers, “No Room at the Inn”. Such a contradiction contained in one man, Matt Jamison; the strength, power, self-sacrifice and courage of his convictions, who lovingly and painstakingly cares for his comatose wife, who also is capable of lashing out at complete strangers and… raping his comatose wife?! A lot of dark possibilities in this story line that is nevertheless touching and even heartbreaking at turns.

Watching Dead - A Walking Dead Podcast - 604 – Here’s Not Here

Jim and A.Ron have had a few days to ponder the Morgan-centric episode of The Walking Dead, “Here’s Not Here”, and while it still suffers from some conceptual flaws and it’s unfortunate place in the meta-narrative, there is still a lot to like here… We discuss the finer points of goat milking, the zeal and desperation of the newly converted, the problems of an “all life is precious” worldview during a zombie apocalypse, ponder Eastman’s Goo-goo Cluster supply as well as his possible Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle connections, and consider a metric ton of feedback. See you next week!

I Thought This Was Meat

Kelly & Tom do their best to transform the mumblecore snoozefest that is 2008’s Brideshead Revisited into a Warner Brothers cartoon. They declare that Ben Whishaw is #NotMySebastian, name-check Bertolt Brecht, make fun of Haley Atwell’s atrocious wardrobe, advocate for more pop culture dong, and declare unusual characters to be their favorites.  Kelly has gay…
