Game of Thrones – 209 – Blackwater

Jim and A.Ron are nearing the finish line of their retro-re-watch of Game of Thrones season two.  This week is one of the all time great episodes, “Blackwater”.  There aren’t many heroes or villains in this one, just brave men fighting each other in desperate and bloody fashion.  Great action, but even greater character moments for Sansa, Cersei, Tyrion, and the Hound.  We have a lot of fun gushing over this episode,  then we bat clean up with feedback and our SpoiLore section at the very end of the podcast.

Mr. Robot – 209 – eps2.7_init_5.fve

We’re back for another in-depth review and recap of USA’s Mr. Robot, episode 209, “eps2.7_init_5.fve”. Starting off slow, it builds to a few intriguing possibilities in the form of wheezing man at the Susan’s house, a knock on Darlene’s door, and our least favorite attractive crazy person, Joanna rolling up on Elliot. We discuss morphine pops, crazy A.I. and Tyrell theories, and try to unravel the timeline issues from the last two episodes. All this plus all the feedback you can shake a Pwn Phone at!

Better Cast Saul – 209 – Nailed

Episode 209 of AMC’s “Better Call Saul”, entitled “Nailed”, is superlative, and takes us on quite the intense and unexpected emotional rollercoaster. We can’t wait to see what goes down in the finale next week! But first things first, we talk about Mike’s snatching a total moral defeat from the jaws of victory, Chuck’s crazy pants theory that just happens to be true, Kim’s very nuanced and perhaps conditional acceptance of Jimmy’s wily ways, and much more, including tons of great feedback from our fellow fans.

What's Cooking in Hell's Kitchen – 209 – Seven Minutes in Heaven

Daredevil really kicks it up a notch in episode 209, “Seven Minutes in Heaven”! Featuring several fantastic and brutal fights and some equally brutal emotional confrontations, the Kingpin takes over prison, the Punisher gets unleashed upon Hell’s Kitchen once more, and Matt walks a lonely path to protect his friends and loved ones from danger even as The Hand’s latest attempt to create a Dark Sky takes a creepy, disturbing turn.

Fargo – 209 – “The Castle”

Where you come down on Fargo’s latest episode, “The Castle”, and perhaps the season as a whole, entirely hinges on whether you swallow the final act. We did not, and thus are in the uncomfortable position of not liking and yet still admiring Noah Hawley’s bold experiment in television. Hopefully some of our concerns will evaporate by the time the finale episode is over next week, but if not, we promise we’ll be here with some pod therapy.

Following The Leftovers – 209 – Ten Thirteen

Jim and A.Ron were blown away by the twist at the end of The Leftovers episode “Ten Thirteen”, which we probably should have seen coming. Kind of amazing that you can pull something like that off with millions of people obsessing and collaborating over the internet, but welcome to The Leftovers! We do a deep dive on Meg and her motivations and her spin on the Guilty Remnant, her epic show down with Matt, what is going on in Tommy’s head, what’s she using plastic explosives for, tons of listener feedback, and speculate on just where are we heading towards in what will no doubt be an epic screwjob of a season finale next week. We can’t wait!

Breaking Good – 209 – 4 Days Out

In this episode 209 of Breaking Bad, “4 Days Out”, we find Jesse and Walt stranded in the boonies, undergoing a long dark tea time of the soul. We discuss homemade batteries, this episode as the fulcrum of the entire series, Saul’s lack of bedside manner, Walt’s shattered reflection, and Jr’s epic flipped bird. All this, your feedback, a healthy spoiler section, and much more.
