210 – “18 Miles Out” – Watching Dead

Jim and A.Ron are conflicted this episode.  There are parts of our favorite AMC zombie-based dramedy that are brilliant, and parts that almost gave us brain aneurysms.  Find out which are which as we discuss zombie waterfalls, Andrea Kavorkian, Rick being silent but deadly, Lori extolling the benefits of being pregnant and in the kitchen, and torture by Molly Hatchet.  See you at the crossroads (so you won’t be lonely)!

Note:  For whatever reason, we’re running high-octane spoilers this whole min-season, so steer clear of our spoiler section if you want to remain pure.  Remember, you’re always going to be safe and spoiler free if you turn off your player before our outro music plays.

As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out!  You can emailTweet, orFacebook us.  Give us some lovin’ by leaving us an iTunes review and especially by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs.  Remember, it costs you nothing, and sends a little “sumpin’ sumpin‘” our way.  Win/win!

Justified Podcast

In case you missed it, be sure to check out our interview with Justified writer/producer Taylor Elmore that we released earlier tonight.  After that, join us for a discussion of Quarles’ hobbies, Raylan having a bad day, what’s up with Winona, Limehouse’s rebellion, and Arlo’s possible senility.  Then in the feedback section we hear from our fans, including another informative dispatch from our embedded Kentucky reporter, Ted.  We cap it off with a brief spoiler section in which we consider the preview for next week’s episode in order to glean any insights that may be had.

As always, if you like what we do, give us a shout out!  You can emailTweet, or Facebook us.  Starting up another show, we really need our fans help on  iTunes with reviews and subscriptions to help us get the word out.  You can help directly support the show by using our Amazon affiliate link for any and all of your Amazon shopping needs.  Remember, it costs you nothing, and Amazon throws us a few pennies to help pay for our bandwidth and hosting.

Interview with Justified Writer/Producer Taylor Elmore

Thanks to listener Ed KJustified Podcast, we were put in touch with Writer/Producer for FX’s Justified, Taylor Elmore.  Mr. Elmore was kind enough to give us about an hour of his time for a wide ranging interview that touches on his history with the show, the process for creating Justified, his thoughts and opinions on the plot, writing, and production of the show, and a few tidbits about up coming plot points for the second half of season three!

Special thanks goes out to our listeners who contributed some of the questions; Sandy, Michael G, Lucas, Daniel M, and redditors TheGreatNinjaYuffie, sniffles_snort, and notonekind.  It was fun, we’ll have to do it again, sometime, maybe as a season three wrap up?

208 – “Nebraska” – Watching Dead

Watching Dead is back!  Jim and A.Ron have tons to discuss with the return of our favorite zombie themed drama, The Walking Dead, from it’s mid-season hiatus.  Find out what we think about small-farm politics, Philly fans, zombie bonfires, who’s jockeying for position of “Most Useless” survivor, and lots more.

IMPORTANT: We dish some MASSIVE episode 12 and 13 spoilers in the spoiler section of our cast.  As always, these babies are safely cordoned off into the spoiler section of our show, but remember, if you don’t want to hear them, stop playback when you hear our theme song after the show.  If you listen past that, it’s all on you!

304 – “Devil You Know” – Justified

Justified PodcastHo-ho-hold your horses, now!  We got a brand new episode of Justified to talk about!  It’s a particularly brilliant one, the dialog was just amazing.

We discuss Carpetbagger’s imitation preacher routine, Devil’s loyalty, Dickie’s swagger, Raylan’s race relations, Boyd’s pitter patter, the finer points of vehicular assault, and the three point turning of pig shit.

303 – “Harlan Roulette” – Justified

What a great episode!  It had it all, a cool “gangster of the week”, maximized levels of Raylan and Boyd badassery, links to the main season arc… really, you can’t ask for much more from a show.

We talk about why we feel like this episode works so well, the many versions of Boyd the show has presented us, Raylan’s recovery, why we’ve firmly come down on the “anti” side of the Raylan/Winona shipper debate, this show’s Breaking Bad and Taxi Driver allusions, and Johnny Crowder’s loyalty.  We also consider some fan feedback, including another fantastic segment from our own embedded reporter, Ted.  Check out the article he linked for us detailing show runner Graham Yost’s visit to Harlan County!
