Hey everybody, Jim and I are planning a meetup for the season three premier of The Walking Dead on Sunday, October 14th. Now, before I go any further this is just at the planning stage, depending on interest level we may not do it. But if we could several dozen people to say they’d show up, and if a dozen or so actually did, that would be kind of cool.
Our plan would be to show up an hour or so early, get our podcasting stuff all setup, meet and greet anyone who shows up and wants to say hi and chat for a bit, then watch the show together, then do a kind of “instant take” podcast with some audience participation if anyone is feeling it.
We’re thinking some kind of bar or sports bar would be a good venue, we’re just worried that potentially we’d have a problem finding a place that is willing to put The Walking Dead as it’s main focus, and pipe the audio through the house system. That’s going to put them at odds with some of their other core audiences, like Sunday night football fans, for example. We’ve also thought about renting out a theater or something similar; it will depend on the local response.
So, we have about a month, and this first week is all about location planning. Please, please, please only vote in this poll if you are local to the Indianapolis area, and are willing to show up to this event, OR you’re willing to make the drive. We’re really trying to get an accurate headcount so we can pick a great venue where we can all have fun watching the show.

Please keep it about the Indianapolis area, we’d like to do some other regions, but I’d prefer not to clutter up the comment area with “how about Chicago?!” for now. That poll will be coming later. 😉
