Breaking Good FAQ

Q: Where can I find your up to date predictions?  Right here.

Q: Why the name, Breaking Good?  A: First, it’s an extremely lazy and unoriginal spin off the show’s name, Breaking Bad. So there’s that.  But also, our other podcast is insane, foul, and wrong.  While Breaking Good features adult language and topics befitting a show about a show about drug dealers, murderers, and other violent psychopaths, we actually reign it in quite a bit.  We’re Breaking Good, if you will.  Aha.  Aha-ha.

Q: What is your release schedule?  A: Here is how things work: Jim and I seperately watch Breaking Bad on Sunday night.  We then seperately compose our thoughts as “Instant Takes” and post them either late Sunday or very early on Monday mornings.  After reading the other guy’s take on the episode, canvassing the internet for other opinions and theories, and perusing listener feedback, we compose our separate notes for the show and meet on Monday evening to record the cast.  We release the cast no later than noon EST on Tuesday, but usually it is available very late on Monday nights.  Throughout the week Jim posts news and updates via Twitter @BaldMove, and A.Ron posts Breaking Bad News Monday through Friday around noon EST.  We usually only post our podcast releases or truly epic news or updates to our Facebook site to keep it focused and not clutter up people’s time lines.

Q: What is your policy on spoilers?  A: We do not consider anything that happens up to and including events of the currently aired episode to be spoilers, and the cast will freely discuss these.  We keep spoilers or news/interviews/speculation that could be considered spoilers confined to a separate part of our podcast towards the end.  We always give warnings that we’re about to segue into that portion of the show, and play our theme song to give people plenty of time to switch off if they want to avoid this kind of coverage.  Feel free to send us anything spoilerish to our email and discuss anything in threads marked “Spoiler” on our forums, but please try to follow our lead in comment threads, Facebook shouts, or any other public places where your fellow Breaking Bad fans might read them.

Q: You guys got $SOME_FACT wrong in your last cast!  Don’t you idiots even watch the show?  We do watch Breaking Bad and love it. However, do to our schedules, we basically watch the new episode, sometimes twice, write our reviews, go to work the next day, come home, read your feedback, and cast.  Because of this we don’t get to fact check many of our listener’s theories, and sometimes even our own.  We feel like it’s more important to get the cast out there the next day than make sure we’re 100% accurate.  If you find anything we get wrong, feel free to email and bust our chops about it.

Q: Who the hell is Villigan?  Tuvok?  A: To amuse ourselves, we’ve come up with pet names for various people on or involved with the show.  Here is a guide…

The Villigan:  Vince Gilligan, showrunner for the X-Files and Breaking Bad.  He’s crafty and devious and plays with our emotions.
Meat Eating Man: Huell, Saul’s large, carnivorous body guard / security guy.
Tuvok:  Tyrus, Mike’s new “guy”.

Q: How can I get in touch with you?  A: In no particular order of preference…

… if you want an immediate reply, please let us know in your message, otherwise, we will probably answer any questions or give responses on our show, time permitting.  You increase the chance that we’ll read your feedback by making it original, funny, well written, and clever.  Even if we don’t read your feedback due to time constraints of the show, know that every message we get is read and appreciated.

Q: How can I support Breaking Good?  A: The fuel that powers our podcast engine is feedback.  Obviously, positive feedback is appreciated, but we appreciate hearing what you don’t like or think we can do better, too.  The thing that helps us the most is positive iTunes reviews, and Facebook likes.  It helps us rise to the tops of rankings and improves our search engine performance, which gets us more listeners and more feedback which in turns helps us make a better case.  A virtuous circle, if you will.

Another way to support is is through our amazon affiliate link, conveniently located at amazon.baldmove.com. When you purchase something using that link, Amazon gives us a very small portion of the sale.  This does not cost you anything, and helps us pay for bandwidth and hosting costs.  Don’t buy anything special just for us, but if you’re buying something from Amazon anyway, we’d appreciate the support!

Q: Where are you located?  A: We podcast out of Cincinnati, OH.
