Hey everybody, I’m back from my trip to Chicago the being treated for a sniper bullet claiming the top of my right ear! Because of the golf trip to Medina cowardly attempt on my life, our podcast was delayed 24 hours. We sincerely apologize, and don’t anticipate further delays with the rest of the season. If you missed it coming out in the wee hours of this morning, check it out!
AMC posted a few new “Better Call Sal” commercials. Does this signal increased importance of Saul’s character in the upcoming weeks? From the AMC preview for “Salud”, it seems he has at least one juicy scene. Here is the other new ad.
One enterprising Redditor did a comparison of Gus’s home from season 3 and his house from season 4. There are a lot of differences, mostly centered around the presence of children. Gus has said he has kids, and the house from season 3 would support that. Season 4? Not so much. Interesting?
This came out last year, but it was news to me. The Villigan did an interview with NPR talking about Breaking Bad. It’s about 20 minutes long, and packed with some good insight.
Our podcasting bretheren over at Behind the Cutting Edge deliver the goods with yet another interview with the cast and creative team of Breaking Bad. This time they landed Betsy “Marie” Brandt. Good job on you guys!
Hank’s blog is up, and this week is pretty good. He meditates on his philosophy on “being so clean you have to be dirty.” What I liked is a lot of what he says about cheating husbands, and Gus, also applies to Walt. “Because what it really comes down to in the end is that feeling… the one that says something is wrong. Gut instinct is nearly flawless at picking this shit up… Really think back. Now… how often was your gut wrong? I’m guessing never, right? Yeah, thought so.” What is Hank’s gut telling him about Walt? I think right now Walt is okay, but if Hank ever gets that switched flipped, Walt will never be able to convince him otherwise.
Marie’s blog is up too, and it’s more of the same crap. We get it, writers. Marie is fairly oblivious to her own shortcomings and hyper vigiliant about the flaws in others, and she’s also wrong about them as well, and she’s going to write both in an elaborate code but that we’ll know what she’s really talking about because we watched the show, wink, wink. I tell ya what, I’m not going to cover Marie’s blog anymore unless it proves to be interesting. You know the drill, when Hank updates, Marie does, sometimes a day later. It just drives me crazy.
Lastly, I heard Sepinwall was on “The Sports Guy” Bill Simmon’s podcast this week, and he mentioned in Twitter that he talked Breaking Bad. I don’t know for how long, and won’t get a chance to listen myself until tomorrow, but I’ve never failed to be entertained when the two get together and start talking television.
