316 – “Welcome to the Tombs” – The Watching Dead

It’s finally here.  The moment we’ve all been waiting for.  And it stinks!  Like a fresh walker on a hot summer day, it stinks!  We try to find the words to justify the backlash that this episode has unanimously, and deservedly, received across the internet.

315 – “This Sorrowful Life” – The Watching Dead

The penultimate episode of Walking Dead’s third season is surprisingly not the war that we, and the survivors, have been prepping for.  But that doesn’t mean it’s not what we wanted…  Meaningful characterizations and some great acting make this another strong episode on the back half of season 3.  But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect either…  Listen in as Jim & A.Ron dissect Merle, Daryl, Rick and Michonne in another episode of The Watching Dead!

314 – “Prey” – The Watching Dead

Hey guys, Jim was under the weather this week, so we resorted once again to a remote cast.  This one went much better than last, but we still have a ways to go.  Bear with us this week and we’ll be back to in-studio next week.

This week, we discuss “Prey”, episode 314 of The Watching Dead.  Milton’s passive aggression  Andrea’s zombie 10k run, the Governor as Michael Myers, the perils of having a delusional lookout, Tyrese claiming the mantle of “shitty rifle guy”, gynecological torture (shudder), and much, much more.  Then we discuss your copious feedback, AND a spoilery speculative after show.

313 – “Arrow on the Doorpost” – The Watching Dead

A.Ron and Jim were… inspired by the events of this episode to do another tribute skit, our most elaborate yet.  If you’re a fan of those, then you’re in for a treat, if not, I suggest skipping about five minutes ahead.  Lots of questions raised in this episode, with not many answers.  We also have at least two, possibly three budding bromances, and epic smack down of Andrea, a sweet and then sexy Maggie and Glenn emotional reunion, and a badass competition that Daryl handily wins.

Don’t forget this is the LAST WEEK to enter the Bald Move Kindle Fire contest, and also don’t forget to check out our new Walking Dead inspired t-shirt designs over at our merch store.

Note: The last five minutes of the cast were cut off due to a technical error.  It was the promised discussion of Axel the comic book character vs. Axel the TV character.  It wasn’t a very lively discussion, as it seems like more or less they were the same guy.

312 – “Clear” – The Watching Dead

This was a pretty good episode of The Walking Dead; unfortunately I don’t think our cast quite matches up this week.  First off, some rush hour weather kept Jim and A.Ron from getting together to cast, and we had to hastily assemble a remote recorded cast.  We also had some great skit ideas that we couldn’t execute over the remote connection, either. The audio quality is already a few notches below the norm; but then for about 20 minutes in the middle of the feedback it just went to crap and it was beyond our skill to recover.

Just a bummer all around.  Usually we’d just re-record the segments that got butchered, but it’s past midnight already so we’re going to war with what we got.  Hope you enjoy what did make the cut, apologies to the many people who’s email was lost in the noise, and we’ll bounce back next week with a full, trouble free cast.

311 – “I Ain’t a Judas” – The Watching Dead

This podcast is about romance this week.  That special time when the moonlight shines just so, playing off your lover’s shapely ass as she makes her way across the darkened bedroom, by your side… AND THEN PRESSES A KNIFE AGAINST YOUR THROAT!!  And then goes back to sleep?  Okay, it’s less romantic and more confusing as hell, but that’s The Walking Dead for ya.  Join Jim and A.Ron as we finally turn on Andrea like a pack of ill bred, surly wolverines, discuss the merits of Poindexter’s intelligence, Merle’s intellectual side, fictitious concepts like adolescence and asthma, dental nightmares, your awesome feedback, and an action packed megawatt spoiler section.

INCREASINGLY POINTLESS STANDARD SPOILER WARNING!!!  Our spoilers are no-joke hard core and reliably accurate.  If you don’t want none, don’t listen past our spoiler alert music!

310 – “Home” – The Watching Dead

In this week’s action packed recap, Jim and A.Ron discuss the merits of batshit crazy Rick, the Ricktatorship’s looming threat of Glennsurrection, the merit’s of the Governor’s tactical battle plan, Daryl’s epic zombie kill by way of Subaru, and the complexities of Glenn and Maggie’s post-abduction relationship.  All this and plenty of your feedback, too!

This is kind of becoming a regular thing, but regarding our spoiler section; WE HAVE MEGAWATT SPOILERS AND YOU SHOULD AVOID THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE NEXT EPISODE COMPLETELY SPOILED.

309 – “The Suicide King” – The Watching Dead

The Walking Dead is back, with the mid-season premier episode “The Suicide King”, and so are we!  Jim and A.Ron discuss A.Ron’s man crush on Chad Coleman, a ludicrous Rick/Beth/Carl “love triangle”, dead eyed Carl Jr., the Rick/Daryl bromance breakup (temporary, we’re sure), and Andrea’s toe dip into the world of fucked up post-apocalyptic politics.

Oh, and fever dream spoiler section that has Jim and A.Ron nervous for what is coming ahead.  NOTE:  IF TRUE, THESE ARE MEGAWATT SPOILERS AND YOU SHOULD AVOID THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE NEXT EPISODE COMPLETELY SPOILED.

Interview with TWD Writer, Sang Kyu Kim!

As mentioned on the latest podcast, Jason from the WalkingDeadCast.com graciously invited me to co-host on his podcast during an interview with Sang Kyu Kim, the writer of The Walking Dead episode 304, “The Killer Within”.   Jason is a really cool dude, and his Walking Dead ‘Cast is the number one TWD podcast on iTunes for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that he and his co-host Karen get crazy access to interview the likes of Andrew “Rick” Lincoln, head zombie FX-guy Greg Nicotero, Danai “Michonne” Gurira, and many more.  You should check them out!
