Alien Swarm Review
Platform: PC
Publisher: Valve Corporation
Developer: Valve Corporation
Release date: July 19, 2010
Alien Swarm is a top-view shooter released by Valve in the summer of 2010 as a free game exclusive to Steam. It combines elements from top-view shooters such as Super Smash TV and Robotrosn: 2084 as well as elements from survival games such as Left 4 Dead.
Similar to Left 4 Dead, this is a 4 player coop game. While it is not required to have 4 active players, it is more fun to play with more players. Unlike L4D though, this game doesn’t provide AI partners. So if one person plays alone, they are not accompanied by 3 AI players.
Red Dead Redemption Review
This review is courtesy Michael Brewer of MadBrewLabs. Check out his blog for his thoughts about RPGs, game design, running campaigns, and more.
Platform: PS3
Also available on: XBox 360
Publisher: Rockstar Games
Developer: Rockstar San Diego / Rockstar North
Release date: May 18, 2010
Red Dead Redemption[1] is an action-adventure 3rd person shooter that is set in the late (1911-1914) Old West. While it’s set in the Old West, the open game world locations and people are actually fictitious. Red Dead Redemption (RDR) is the spiritual successor to the PS2 game, Red Dead Revolver, but doesn’t share any common characters in the story lines (though you can unlock Revolver models for online play).
Plot
I’ll try to keep from spoilers, but the primary storyline for RDR follows former outlaw, John Marston, who is strong-armed into tracking down and killing his former gang members when the newly formed FBI kidnaps his wife and son.

Truffle Shuffle – Episode 69
This is a terrible cast. I honestly wouldn’t listen to it, if I were you. I mean, I gotta keep it real, right? I can’t say how awesome our casts are and it mean anything and then drop a turd and talk it up, yeah? Yeah.
Thing is, I’m not sure why it flopped on it’s face. We had some good bullshit up front; pimping the Brew Ha Ha, advances in metallurgy, saying a happy birthday to Alan Turing, and talking about Terry Prachett’s dignity in making end of life decisions. A.Ron plugs one of his favorite twitter feeds, @humblebrag.
For our meat, Jim discusses whether or not Super 8 brought back fond memories of Spielberg’s innocent sci-fi movies of the 80s, and A.Ron ponders what the recent tidal wave of hacking means for security and privacy in the future. I dunno, seems like a decent cast. But it totally wasn’t.
If you want to break down where we went wrong, Zapruder film style, drop us a line back, and to the left. Back… and to the left. Unleash your venom at us on Twitter, flame us on our Facebook fan page, or give us a terrible review on iTunes. Don’t forget our forums! Any hate you spew there stays forever, permanently etched into our SQL database. All I ask… is for you to be gentle.

Steven Spielberg may make you jump out of your seats again by putting some old fossils back on screen. You may be surprised to find that it isn’t Harrison Ford.
We fill you in on why you should help Ryan Reynolds save our planet and let the naysayers…. just…. well they can just go… something that rhymes with naysayers. Plus we tell you why 2001: A Space Odyssey is the coolest movie of the summer! What it was made in the 60′s??? Well yeah but it still tops most of the movies being released this year so you need to check it out now!

L.A. Noire Review
Platform: PS3
Also available on: XBox 360
Publisher: Rockstar Games
Developer: Team Bondi
Release date: May 17, 2011
Rockstar Games is mainly known for their Grand Theft Auto series, which popularized the open-world sandbox experience that can be found in many games today. With L.A. Noire, Rockstar Games got with Team Bondi to bring a whole new experience with the open-world formula. Instead of playing as a criminal who rules the streets, the player is put into the shoes of Cole Phelps, an L.A.P.D. detective, to clean up the streets and solve the crimes.
The Seven Deadly Degrees of Bacon – Episode 68
The guys release ultra-devastating power on the unsuspecting listeners this week. First, A.Ron is incredulous with Jim’s shunning of the fantastic game, Angry Birds (now free on Chrome!), talks about how awesome Infamous 2 is, and declares that X-Men: First Class blows the lid off the Bacon game for a whole new generation.
And that’s just the bullshit! For this week’s meat, A.Ron goes BMT with a discussion of how to succeed in IT without even trying, or how to extort your former employers for fun and profit. Jim asks if there is a rise in geek anti-intellectualism? I don’t know about all that, but I sure do get tired of hearing Jim throwing around his fancy goddamn $20 words. We close with some listener feedback, and what could be the most baffling Stafa’s corner yet.
If you’d like to flex your intellectualism, drop us a line, give us a shout on Twitter, leave us some feedback on our Facebook fan page, or review us on iTunes. Don’t forget our forums, they’re the most groovy, swinging place this side of Kevin’ Bacon’s Hellfire Club!
